looking for input on rotary cutter purchase. I have a jd4700 tractor with 460loader and am trying to decide between the woods bb72x and bb720x. would like to get the 720 but I am concerned about the weight. any input or someone with similar combination would be great.

You'll be good with the 720X. Mowing with the loader isn't as beneficial as most make it out to be. Most of the weight is high and not as far forward as it could be. You really want a full set of front weights, low and forward to be confident with the 720X.

I just bought a BB600X for my TC40 back in May. I can lift it with no problem. I believe the BB720X is 200 lbs. heavier. You should not have a problem lifting it with your 3 pt. My BB600X is awesome. I have been cutting 6 to 8 ft tall pine saplings mixed with briars and other brush with it, no problems. I was also worried about the weight when deciding on what to get. It is one heavy duty cutter.

I just bought the BB720X to pull behind my Massey 1648, and like you, was concerned about having enough tractor to manhandle a 1200 lb. cutter. Happy to report that the Massey does just fine with it. I left the loader installed, thinking that I might have to pull the cutter with a bucket full of dirt as a counterbalance. But that isn't the case at all.
