Battery Light

My friend has this 2165 that he got, and it runs and mows fine but when he turns the blades on the battery light comes on, he thinks it's not letting the battery charge. Does anybody know how to fix this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

The PTO clutch coil may be drawing high amperage or there is a rubbed area on the red wire shorting to ground. Unplug the connection at the PTO clutch and see if it does it. If the light still comes on its in the wiring if not the clutch is drawing the voltage down.
