I need a new battery for my Yanmar 1300D. I can't find anything that looks like the original that will fit. My question is...Can I use a regular lawn tractor battery from Sears? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I've never seen a 1300D but I would think the usual advice applies. Measure the battery tray and get the largest CCA rated battery with the post layouts the same as the original that will fit in the space you have. I wouldn't think a lawn and garden tractor battery would work well with a diesel. Too small to have enough reserve capacity and too much strain rolling over the diesel would mean a short life for one of these batteries in a Yanmar.

Since you're in Oregon.....
Go to a Bimart store and buy a battery for a Honda car, they fit like a glove in the 1300- 1301-1401 -1510 f15-f16 f175 ect...
You will also have to buy 2 new battery clamps since the 1300s have small ones that wont fit the new batt.
