I feel this an about-face post...you had to admit the grid has storage capacity while at the same time not admitting it.
You are real comedian :)

I thought I was the one being polite.

Just teaching...

I love the way you are always so warm and fuzzy.

If the grid is not storage capacity for times of high demand, where is the storage capacity?
Texas seems to get along ok with electricity short of what's needed for unexpected cold or heat. How do they do it?

I still get the excuse of, we're backordered because of the freeze in Texas. Texas should have come to Wyoming in February for a show and tell on the physics of windmills in the cold.

Uh...Cost per car? Have to ask someone who bought one in China?.

Although NIO is apparently planning to be sold in Germany, Sweden the Netherlands and Denmark next year.
By 2025 they plan to be 25 countries/regions.

I did find this on the China Government subsidizing the battery swap stations.

NIO gains advantage after Chinese Government favors battery swapping for EVs

I actually think the concept of modular batteries is workable. Decouple the ownership of the car and battery. But again details. Imagine the size stations would have to be to store, charge, and swap batteries. Would all manufacturers produce a modular platform. Is there enough profit for the risk of amassing huge amounts of infrastructure for a technology that is constantly changing...or is Government the only answer because they can operate at a loss and be inefficient.

Nevermind, I'm going back to the battery not being a viable long-term solution for transportation needs.

One has to be able to relate to a teacher to want to understand what they are ”teaching”.
