Bat Houses?

Sorry, can't resist.

Vinyl siding, in the woods, nooks and cranny's everywhere, always have bats.

Dusk to Dawn security light will attract bugs at night, which then attracts bats.

PM me if you want the plans to build one.

Leave a big enough hole, and they will even come in and live with you, ask me how I know.

There are lots of free "DIY bat house" plans online, but my shop build project isn't done, so I have enough projects going here. I might buy one and give it another try. They may already be living in one or more of my out buildings here (old barn, corn crib, etc...) I left the one I had on the pole, in Indiana.

Never can tell what the bats prefer. In Florida I put up a bat box I built according to established plans and put it up about 16' and away from all trees and near water. Never saw a single bat use it. But, close to the house I had a swing set with a climbing rope that was attached to a wooden box (horizontal with about a 2" wide and 6" tall opening and about 2' long) that was about 10 ' up and counted 32 bats come out of it one night.

Before the virus pandemic that killed most of them, we seen lots of bat houses that appeared to be empty.
