Jerry, I'm certainly no physics expert but the diameter of the loader's cylinders have to be factored in. The larger the volume of the cylinder/piston the greater the force. Higher pump speed would serve to fill a cylinder faster. Does seem that increasing pressure would create more force if all the other factors were equal but that would have limits too. I'm not familair with the old thread you mentioned. Maybe you could start a new thread to discuss this subject.

I guess what you're saying is since the 4100 uses a 410 ldr and the 4200 uses a 420 ldr. The latter must have larger cylinders thus giving more force with less psi. Guess pressure and flow just work together.

This thread has become esoteric. The total flow is the total flow and the 4100 hydro model is 5.1 divided amongst it's consumers and the 2410 is 7.0 also from duel pumps and divided in a similar fashion. Advantage 2410! I will not discuss the meaning of "is" or "is" or "total" or "total". The 2410 does have duel pumps so there is no "if" to it. This is not the Clinton empeachment or the OJ trial.
The equations for hydraulic cylinders are real simple ---- F=PXA and V=AXL where F is force, P is pressure in psi and L is length of stroke and V is volume of stroke and A is area in sq inches.
Obviously, engineers may juggle these parameters to achieve their intentions by more than one approach depending upon what they consider to be more desirable and other system constraints. High pressure with low flow and a small cylindewr may work well but what about seal wear and leakage--conversely a high volume and a large piston operating at a lower pressure may not be as efficient or may not fit in the allotted space etc.
I imagine both tractors work just fine but since it is insisted that JD tractors must always be best and I am running in danger of being "tractor non PC compliant" -- I will just run the risk and say it again--I prefer a Kubota over a JD even if the Kubota was powered by a Kangaroo. I will not have your green eggs and ham!

This is interesting. I was watching the total posts to the various forums and wondered when we would top 100,000. After seeing this one grow as fast as it has, I think we will make it by the first of the year.

I only hear one person insisting JD tractors must always be best. I don't know of any one that really believes that. Do you?

When it comes to the larger tractors for agriculture, the majority of tractors in the fields around here are green. And the majority of compacts that I see on the trailers being towed by the landscapers are green. While this in no way means JD is the best, they do seem to be the most popular around here and they must be doing something right, because I've never known a person that makes their living off the land to go out and buy the inferior machine. That's just my observation. Have yourself a green day and an orange sunset over the blue water.

Does anyone truly believe that any of the companies would knowingly build a product that can't compete with the other company? I'm not talking about little tiny things like 1/10th of a gallon faster hydraulic flow, but something more than that.

The companies design/manufacture products that they believe they can sell. They believe they can compete with the dealer down the road.

Each brand/make/model has points better than a competitor, so it's unrealistic to think there is a wide margin of difference between the companies. If there was a wide margin, there wouldn't be the big 3, it would be only 1 or 2.

Some of the posts on here have been no better than than what the dealer said in "thechamps" original post. The first few posts were great in saying how poor the dealer/saleperson was.

There are alot of intelligent people here, and we could probably trade barbs back and forth for years - but what's the point? Maybe we could have a new Forum called the Boxing Ring, where the gloves come off, and you can speak your peace about anything tractor realated.

Here, I'll start - "Yo' momma's so fat, unless she had r-4's on her compact, the tires would burst".

Now you're getting personal. My Momma's does not look fat on an orange tractor. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

And your moma wears army shoes (since the plastic comment did not get a rise out of anyone--yet)! Take that you scoundrals!
Meanwhile the thread from Hades continues to grow--is this the largest ever?
Stay tuned--will Kubota owners throw in the towel?--will JD owners admit they are jealous of our properly black seats and lovely orange paint?--is this some type of p--er---tractor jealousy---will the unstoppable force giveway to the unmoveable object--did the chicken or the egg come first?
Yes folks, these and other mysteries of the unvierse solved right here--right here at TBN. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Over bearing and forcing an opinion? Are you referring to me?
I'm with John Miller III. Please explain.
If you're referring to me I guess I am forcing my opinion that I like all the tractors and especially like the one that fits my needs at the time. I've got the jd4300 instead of the k3010 mainly because of the turning brakes on the 4300 which I do use all the time. In another aplication the k3010 may fit my needs better. Also, I'll say it again, what ever brand or model tractor you're looking at make sure you go beyond the numbers. They don't always tell the whole truth and are usually slightly miss leading one way or the other. I hope I've cleared up my position if there was any question. I'm just trying to get along and once in a while give my 2cents. Maybe I'm to generous at times and give a whole $1 worth.

What makes you and John wonder if I was talking about you?
A little guilty feeling maybe?

I don't think the black seat would go as well with my green as it does with your orange, but I'd rather my yellow one was black anyway.

Hi Greg,

…"thechamps" original post…a new Forum called the Boxing Ring…

It’s already been started… here… and by none other than “thechamp”…/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Here, I'll add - "Yo' momma's sooooooooo fat… She needs Three Compacts… Orange, Green, and Blue… just to sit her one big fat butt… /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif
