Same shot, a bit wider. I forgot to adjust the white balance so it's a bit on the warm side. Yet another thing to remember on this camera /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well again, I won't bore with too many pictures. Today I finished the third coat of drywall mud so it's ready for sanding. I also picked up the doors at the big box as they were on sale. Don't need them just yet but I couldn't pass up the price. And I also couldn't resist the temptation of slipping them into place. The door to the right is my shop and to the left is the bath.

Sanding is next but it will likely wait until after Christmas now /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Finally, back on track after the holidays. The next step is by far the worst... sanding drywall. First order of business is to seal off the rest of the house. Some plastic sheeting, tape and a few sticks of wood is all it takes /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The sealing arsenal includes painters canvas drop cloths which work very well on the stairs and not as slick as plastic /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The real star of this phase was not a person but a rented tool. I used a Porter-Cable dustless drywall sander and it was worth every penny of the rental. It captured most of the dust and saved tons of time as the sanding disc is powered. The wand was long enough to eliminate ladders though it did get a bit heavy later in the day /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Corners still require hand sanding as the power sander won't get all the way in. It leaves about 3/4 inch but a 90 degree sanding block makes quick work of it. Of course, it also makes a mountain of dust /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

In spite of a hat, dust mask and throw away coveralls some dust still manages to coat yours truly. Nasty stuff /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I took Friday off for the sanding and textured the ceilings Saturday. Today was company so priming will wait until next weekend. I'll spray a coat and spray a finish coat on the ceilings /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think, of all the tools I've used and work I've done, in my lifetime, I hate sanding more than anything, especially with non-powered sandpaper, whether with or without a sanding block. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
