I like the craftsmanship shown in the fraiming in your 35 upper loft photo. Those are heavy beams & posts to work with - whoever did that work surely knew what they were doing!

The guy I hired and I made all those joints. The beams we bought already cut to size except for the length. That is the pearling that supports the roof. We copied the old beams that we took down. We actually built the pearling on the floor to the right of where it stands. We had beams and plywood up there to walk on. We lined up the bottom of the beams where they were supposed to go and lifted the pearling up by hand. It was more than a bit heavy. Fortunately for us we only had to lift up 3 sections. We spliced it into the old pearling beam in the barn.
