These are amazing hooking up the PTO as well as the implement! There are a few drawbacks (price, extending the implement back further from the tractor, having to cut or get new PTO drive shafts, etc.) Still incredible invention; see the videos.

Anyone know if the old simple non-PTO hardware is still made by Jiffy Hitch? Good example of simple A-frame , self centering quick hitch.

One thing I noticed about the Jiffy hitch is that pushes the implement back a lot of inches, way too much. While the European setup doesn't push the implement back at all since half of the quick hitch is built in the implement.

Yes, I don't think it has to do with Europe but rather the mechanical awkwardness of having heavy implements suspended further from the tractor. The automatic connection of the PTO shafts is a remarkable feature allowing "pull up and drive away" hitch capability without ever leaving the tractor seat. I am leaning away from that luxury toward just getting a set of plain older Jiffy Hitch A-frame hardware and just manually connecting the PTOs. That only pushes the implement back 4" or so which is much easier to deal with AND the hitches must be drastically cheaper if I can locate them. Current Jiffy Hitch website never mention the existence of the simple no-PTO versions.

Just a thought, and you've probably done this already, if tolerances have become that tight I'd try power washing both the implement side and the loader side. I've had implements become increasingly hard to latch over time. A good clean and some grease on the pins has sometimes fixed it, sometimes not. Have a close look under the top edge lip of the attachment, there might be compacted crud under there. While I'm at it I look for any damage though haven't found any as yet.

Good trick with the oak tree, I'll add it to my repertoire of jumping up and down on it and jiggling the loader arms creatively.
