I've always balanced my trailer tires. Thought it was a good idea just as balancing vehicle tires. Increased tire life and smoother riding trailer with a load or without a load. Recently in a tire job and was surprised to hear that most people do not. Any comments appreciated...........

All tires should be balanced. If someone tells you your trailers tires do not need balanced move on because they have no idea what they are talking about.

For years I never balanced them and didn't know any different. Then I bought an old bubble balacer at an auction and figured what the heck. The difference was beyond description. All the road vibration was gone and the mnii-wobble at 45 MPH was not even there at much higher speeds. One of the best things I have ever done.

I also balance all of my trailer tires. It's cheap and makes a noticeable difference when hauling empty or light loads. According to my local tire store, almost no one balances them. Not sure why.....

I never had the tires that originally came on my tandem trailer rotated or balanced. When it was time to get a new set I got radials and get them rotated and balanced once a year.

I'll double the life of them compared to the cheap tires that came on the trailer.

I've always done it. Even with the commerical trailers I service at the shop. Heck I even done it on my motorcycle trailer.

ignorance = unbalanced trailer tires

One of the difficulties I've encountered was hub or lug centric. Only a very few tire shops will balance a tire based on the lugs..

I figure any balance correction is better than none.
