Have a small band saw, want to replace blade. Old blade too fine & worn out. No place can I find the length of the blade. tried to measure the saw, but that didn't work so hot. it does have part # for different blades. Maybe that will help to find the length??

Is there a model number on your saw somewhere? If so, find it and Google it and you'll find plenty of info about it including blade specs. If not, take the old blade off and use a piece of string or wire to run around the blade circumference then measure the string to find length.

Pretty much a miserable day. Wind blowing hard. Blew truck around just going to Dollar General.
Had a hard time getting to the DG. Pavement ripper in their driveway along with a tractor. Traffic from other way took about 5 minutes to clear. Sure glad I was not in that mess. Lucked out when leaving, messed up traffic going other way.
Came up $1 short. Could have put it on debit card, but didn't feel like. Nice Lady that sort of knows me put it in the cash box. There are some nice people in this world.
Was going to see Larry on way out, driveway all clogged up, stop on way back. On way back he is gone. OH well.
Road id pretty smooth, but they are doing a bad job. Not filling the big holes, so they will still turn into puddles. Lots of places the gravel will just wash out.

Am so bound up my eyes are turning brown. keep trying but nothing happening. Along with other pain, sure makes for a bad day.

$198 if a lot more than I can afford for a bread machine. Hope I can find 1 at a thrift shop or similar. Same with small micro wave * I also want to replace gas stove with electric. But that sort of stuff usually goes so fast, If your not there when its put out, not much luck. Habi usually has electric stoves & Micros, but prices are close to new stuff. Never seen an electric hot water heater there or used. Would like to replace gas there as well. Costs very little to look. Only problem with habi is that its about 75 miles away. Other little shops fairly close or maybe a garage sale.

Got to have some more $$$ coming into this place. Bad as I hate it need to start selling on E-bay. Pain in the butt with PO 25 miles away.

You know its a bad day when I don't feel like drinking a beer. Just coffee & a V-8.

More later,
Jim

Can or do daddy long leg spiders bite??? Jim
I have heard they are poisonous. But I also hear their mouth is too small to bite us. They have crawled on my off and on for years and no bites.

From livescience.com

According to entomologists at the University of California, Riverside, the term "daddy longlegs" is commonly used to refer to two distinct types of creatures: opilionids arachnids with pill-shape bodies and eight long legs that are actually not spiders, and pholcids, which have long legs and small bodies, and thus resemble opilionids, but which are true spiders.

Opilionids true daddy longlegs live in moist, dark places and eat mostly decomposing vegetable and animal matter. "They do not have venom glands, fangs or any other mechanism for chemically subduing their food," the UC entomologists write on their website. "Therefore, they do not have poison and, by the powers of logic, cannot be poisonous from venom. Some have defensive secretions that might be poisonous to small animals if ingested. So, for these daddy longlegs, the tale is clearly false."

Pholcids, or daddy long-legs spiders, are venomous predators, and although they never naturally bite people, their fangs are similar in structure to those of brown recluse spiders, and therefore can theoretically penetrate skin. For these reasons, "This is most probably the animal to which people refer when they tell the tale," the entomologists assert.

But is pholcids' venom extremely poisonous? Surprisingly, because they almost never bite, scientists have never bothered to conduct research to determine their venom's toxicity to humans . In 2004, the Discovery Channel show "Mythbusters" stepped in to fill this knowledge void. The team set out to coax a daddy longlegs spider into biting the arm of the show's co-host, Adam Savage.

Their official conclusion? Myth busted. The spider was able to penetrate Savage's skin, and he reported nothing more than a very mild burning sensation from the venom that lasted just a few seconds.

I've was always told by my mom that they are a good sign and a friend. Think she tried to say they took care of undesirables.

Normally they can not or do not bite hands or arms.
But sit on an outhouse seat with tender things exposed & they will bite. As the article says it does not last long. I just renumber an itch.

Before sitting down would take a stick & try to know them down.

New Question.
Why did country folks stop using the Rears & Sawbucks catalog for butt paper??

Have fun,
Crash
