Backwards spinning pto?

A friend asked a competing dealer his opinion on Mahindra tractors today. was told that the only Mahindra tractor he had experience with the pto spun the wrong way which prevented using most snowblowers, etc. without a special adapter. Sounds stupid but was there ever such a thing or reversible pto? Thanks

Some "gray market" tractors (those imported into the US but not meant for sale in the US by the manufacturer) and some Chinese tractors had/have PTO's that turn backwards of the US standard.

Current Mahindra's from a reputable dealer will not have that problem.

early year kabota had a backwards spinning pto and you can sometimes find the adapter and implements to go with the tractor

I have followed Mahindra's progress in the US market for over ten years and I have never seen or heard of a US market Mahindra with "backwards spinning pto". The dealership that I represent (Artec Tractor) has almost 1400 tractors "in the field" currently. Is it possible that the Mahindra in the conversation was grey market intended for use somewhere else in the world? (or maybe dealer hype?) Just my $.02
