Speaking of blowers, was talking to one of the guys on rural fire dept, he said backpack blowers are better than water in some cases fighting grass fires, just get ahead of it and blow back toward burnt area. I don't have one but something to think about, its sure getting dry around here.

I never heard of using a blower to put out a fire. I use mine to get burn piles burning better. And it works really well.

Last Dec. I had a small grass fire that could have become a really big problem and my brother and I knocked it out really fast with a couple of hand held leaf blowers. He had heard about it working when he did tree work and it sure was surprising how fast it worked. The wind was blowing pretty good and we had to eat a lot of smoke to get in front of it so we worked from the sides till we got it out.
