Backhoes for a 955

I know the #7 backhoe fits the 955, but are there any other models of JD hoes that will mount to the 955? Just trying to see if I can broaden my search... I just don't ever seem to run across a #7.

I know there are a number of aftermarket hoes, but a few that I've seen are 3pt models with subframe. If I get a hoe, I want to get one with a subframe.

Unfortunately, you're pretty limited to what you can install on a 955. Those are great tractors, but a rather small frame (and light weight) considering the horsepower.

Yeah... and mine has a half-dozen more hp than it's supposed to.

Kind of figured I was stuck with the #7.... or an aftermarket.

Woods seems to be the most popular and quality aftermarket backhoe. It might be worth checking to see if they have a setup for your 955.

There's a Great Bend 751 for sale near me... but I can't seem to find any specs for online. I've heard that Ameriquip builds the JD#7 and also builds the Great Bend, but I don't know which Great Bend model is comparable to the #7.

I had the same problem, I looked high and low for a #7 and they were either 2000 miles away or ridiculously priced. So I found a New Holland 757c Sub Frame mounted Backhoe for the cheap price of 1500.00. This was also a 7 1/2 foot hoe, and only weighed a 100 pounds more then Deere # 7. So I shortened the frame a foot. Added custom welded mounts and bolted it up. It works great and plugs right into my power beyond kit.

Don't know if your still looking but the model #7 is a toy compared to the woods. I have a woods BH7500 on my 855 and it will pull the tractor around. Came straight from Woods with a subframe #9285.
