Buying Advice Backhoe

I have been thinking about a JD 46 backhoe @ $6000. with all attachments or a Woods BH890X for $4300. But besides the price I am not sure which will work for my JD 2520.. best. I will be doing small jobs maybe a stump or 2 what is your opinion. I like the cheaper price but not sure which is a better deal.. Thanks Richard

Be careful or you will wind up like me with another tractor.

I was looking for a FEL for the MF 265 and for a 60 HP tractor the used ones were beat to death and new was up around $6K.

For $7200 I found a very heavy duty and well worn FEL that came with a good 60 HP tractor with a non removable BH. It is a 1983 JD 310B.

The funny part is I am putting a lot of hours on it because of the FEL and BH. Down side it is another machine to keep up. Up side it is a cheap work horse and is awesome at pulling out the 265 MF, F700 flat dump, ZTR mower, etc, etc when we get them hung.

Does the 890X have a subframe? A tractor that size a sub frame is a must for a backhoe. A 3pt hitch backhoe will rip that tractor in half. The 46 backhoe does have a subframe that will work with the 2520 and is a very nice hoe. I wouldn't hesitate to jump on that deal.
