Backhoe Tooth needed

Backhoe tooth needed. What I need is the wear tooth that slips over the bucket's permanent stub.



I measured my stub that the tooth will fit over and see the opening of the new tooth's socket needs to be 3/4" wide, 1/2" high. The centerline of the hole in the bucket's stub is the back edge of this tooth's socket. (attachment of tooth to stub is by dimpling back edge of tooth socket into that hole). Overall length of my remaining teeth is 2.2 inches after considerable wear, original 2.25 or 2.5"??, tooth blade width 1.125".

I have a 1979 Kubota K650 (Yanmar YBH600) backhoe, with 12" bucket. Its manual says tooth is Kubota #7793037. This # doesn't seem to exist online.

Appearance of what I need is like modern Woods WM33425 (Kubota 33425), or New Holland T41166 aka Deere T2A (shown above, except I don't need that hole in the side of the tooth) but these have a much larger opening to slip over the stub, than what I need.

Any help locating this would be greatly appreciated.

If you can't find a replacement maybe weld some 1/2 flat bar to it then a little heat treatment using heat and quench method.

Wish I still had the missing cap. I think its down under one of the roots I snapped off while digging out a stump.

I thought I noticed the tooth missing immediately so I dug out the area with a hand shovel and searched with a metal detector, then shovelled the hole back in by hand passing the detector over all the material. No luck.

I would rather adapt an almost-fits replacement tooth before I would weld a blade to the remaining permanent stub.

I assume this specific tooth I need is available somewhere, I just don't know who built these little backhoes for Kubota and Yanmar.

Leejohn, thanks! Those catalogs start at twice the length of my 2" tooth so I'll send them an email to see if they stock anything smaller.

It's a #2 crimp on. New Holland part # T41166. I probably have 6 or 8 in the bin. A very common tooth sold by a bunch of part numbers & brands.

This Coleman page indicates that one has overall length and socket width that are double the dimensions I need.

I might buy that one and cut it down if I can't locate my specific replacement tooth. Thanks for the quick reply!

I sent an inquiry to Messick's when I didn't see this tooth in their online inventory. Haven't heard back yet.

Had a couple similar teeth come off a King Kutter box blade a year or two ago. When I went for replacements, I was told the crimp-on style weren't available so I bought weld-on. A couple stitches and no more worries.

I would try Amerequip (ARPS) info@amerequip.com or call 920 894-2000. They made/make some light weight buckets and use fabricated teeth that are odd to the industry standard backhoe teeth.
By the way, crimp-on teeth are fabricated with or without hole to crimp to dimple in the shank.

Thanks! I think they built these backhoes for Kubota and Yanmar back in the day. Somebody posted that information on here years ago and I had forgotten that name. I'll contact them.

Ameritech responded quickly to my inquiry. They said inquire at a parts retailer under the following #'s:

H&L Tooth Company's "O", later renamed "OSP" (the actual tooth manufacturer)

Arps/Amerequip part number 013623 (or 13623 when they first used these)

Deere PT8163 (and researching that, it seems this tooth was used on Deere's Model 7 backhoe)

None of those numbers appears on Ebay. Amazon shows the tooth direct from Deere but notes out of stock and will not restock.

I think what I need next is the name of a Deere mailorder parts vendor with a huge inventory in-house since this is such an obscure part. Looking for dealers online I can't tell the real stocking dealers from the places that just backorder for you. Or can I mailorder direct from Deere?

Find a Woods dealer in California or plug p/n:62660 into Messicks for price and picture. The complete Hensley part number D-838-OSP.

For that # 62660 Messicks shows a 6" long tooth that looks like a hand chisel, and they never responded to my inquiry a few days ago. So it seemed dealing with them might not go straight to a satisfactory transaction.

After ARPS (thanks TractorTech!) supplied the Deere # I went over to the Deere TBN forum and inquired for a good Deere mailorder vendor.

Beenthere suggested greenfarmparts.com so I went ahead and ordered from them after reading their website. Claimed to be the biggest Deere mailorder parts vendor in the world, half million parts in stock, Deere dealer for 60 years etc. And claimed to have this obsolete part in stock for same day free shipping.

I'm hoping this avoids the delay of dealing with a smaller vendor who likely would backorder from these guys (or from another broad-stock Deere dealer).

The picture on Messicks shows the tooth and shank together from the shank pocket side. The tooth is about 2.5" long and the pocket width about 3/4".
Deere did not show availability through their system, so I wonder what the price for the obsolete tooth is going to be?
The remark that a local dealer would backorder the item is strange, they could get the tooth from a known source that you can go back to. Time doesn't seem to be the biggest problem here. Why don't you contact Pioneer Equipment in California or some other Woods dealer local to you? Or Messicks as their picture is what is in error, not the part number?

Deere 7, Arps 70 and IIRC Ford 757B are all the same hoe. Messick's shows New Holland p/n ARP13623 as the tooth for a 757B and 3 in stock.

I continued this inquiry over in TBN's Deere forum, hoping the JD legendary support for their old equipment would be a convenient source.

Messicks never did respond to my inquiry.

Here's my thread over in the Deere forum that describes buying the last four teeth in existence that are known to Deere's parts-finder database (per the parts man who had them on his desk).
