The left rear Backhoe Stabilizer drops when I have my BX23 parked more than a week. Is this normal or something I need to be concerned about? Thanks

Stabilizers as well as the boom will relax when not in use. When we park the BH we run a thin rope between stabilizers so that they stay put until needed.

Thanks Pineridge, I just did not know if it was something to be concerned about before the warranty period was over.

On my bx22 both of my stabalizers have dropped and my bucked has uncurled and drops when it is not pinned. I think it is normal David

Some of my equipment drops and some doesn't. I've always wondered why. It would be nice if someone could chime in here and explain exactly what is going on. I'd like to know if being a bit rough with the equipment makes the hydraulic drooping worse. I try to be careful with my equipment, but digging out stumps with a backhoe can easily push it to its limits. Sometimes I give the FEL lever a mild shake to remove the last of the dirt from the bucket when dumping. Is this bad practice?

the reason cylinders seep down, is that the seals on the piston are worn, and with the weight of the attacment, the oil will slowly bypass, from oneside of the piston to the otherside, alowing them to move.
it will happen to any backhoe after some use. the more you push it, the more it will wear, this is only a normal wear item. If you find they are affecting the power the machine has, then it's time to replace them. the dealer should sell kits, or take you cyl. to a private shop that does hydrulics, and ask them if they can get you a better price ( we can usually buy alot cheaper from our hydrulics suppliers then you can from a dealer)

I hook up a light chain on my stabs when I'm not using the backhoe whether on the tractor or not.

The drooping is one reason there is a transport link on the boom.
