If you bought your tractor from an overseas supplier it is a good possibility that the internal shaft to drive the pump is wrong. Been there and done that. Verify with the people you buy the pump from, or drop me a line.

Looks to me that your tractor is preped for the bolt on pump, to install this pump you will remove the PTO shield and the rectangular plate just above your PTO shaft. You should go ahead and look in there just to be sure you have a slot to drive the pump, it is a bit of a pain to install the new PTO primary shaft if you dont, but not impossible.

The pump should have the fittings that will match up with the two hoses.

with this set up you just unbolt the 4 bolts when you take the hoe off and leave the hoses attached. You could also consider purchasing a pump driven by the PTO iteself, more expensive, but worth it if you will be installing/removing the hoe often.

I personally would not consider removing the tank and running off of the "half remote" supplied on your tractor, it is difficult to redo the hoses to eliminate the tank and the bigger problem is lack of capacity of the lift box. While it may operate, the oil will be working extra hard and will gererate quite a bit of heat (2.5 gallons doing 5 gpm means all the oil circulating twice a minute).

My Jinma supplier has overlooked sending me pumps a couple times and has had to airfreight them to me, maybe yours will also. If not Tommy has already posted he has them and I do as well...

Hi Chip, thanks for your information. I would really like to have a pump that is driven by the PTO and not have to bother removing the PTO shield and plate. I plan to use the BH periodically for demos as I am planning to sell tractors within my province in Quebec. It certainly is good to know that there are people like you and Tommy out there to help provide us some support. I have asked Tommy to provide me with information on the PTO hydraulic pump, if for any reason he cannot I promise to come back to you. Thanks again for your help and response.

Hi Tommy, please check your email, I requested information on the Jinma hydraulic pump, also I would much rather have a PTO run pump that I could install on the tractor or on the backhoe. I will be doing a lot of changing of implements so it has to be the easiest way! Thanks for your help.

Hi, I have a pump for this type of tractor i will part with cheap as it was a spare i no longer need.
But first you will have to see if your tractor is fitted with the proper PTO pump shaft. See that little square plate that is mounted right above your PTO shaft? you need to take that off to check and see if the shaft under that has a slot in it to mate up with the pump that will bolt on in place of the cover you took off.
If you have any questions you can call me. Pat

If he does not want the pump, I will want it as long as it will work on a 254. I am assuming that I can have the pump on and also use the PTO at the same time. Does the PTO have to be engaged to drive the pump?

I am looking at it to drive my T&T i want to add.

You will burn up the pump if you run it while it is not attched to the backhoe (or some other oil supply). just remove the 4 bolts, re install the rectangular plate and for safety sake, the PTO sheild which must be removed for pump isntallation.

also be sure your tractor has this one and not the 3 bolt cover above the PTO shaft or you will have to change a shaft inside the diff. housing.

RON:
like chip said the PUMP can not be attached to the tractor with out having a hyd system for it to pump into. it requires the PTO shaft to be ingauged and will only run when it is so you can use the tractor for pulling but not for any PO equipment with the pump installed. it also requires the shield on the PTO to be removed to install the pump, the pump attaches to the tractor using 4 bolts (which is a 4 bolt plate just above the PTO shaft & under the shield) the tractor also HAS to be equiped with a special shaft in the PTO/TRANS whgich has a grove in the end, (sort of like a round shaft with a slot cut in one end and splines on the other end, (though you can't see the splines unless you buy the shaft and install it..))

the PUMPS are OK for some items but you would be better off adding a sepperate valve system inline with the loader/3 pt lift & power steering system as that is all self contained on the tractor. you HAVE to have the valves anyhow so only need the right couplers to do this.. then you can mount the valves on the fender not worrying about hoses hanging on back my anything.
