I replaced the ROPS on my B2710 recently. I had to remove the top link bracket for my 4690 BH in the process. Well, I followed the torque specs in my shop manual and actually twisted the head off one bolt. This was a 17mm bolt and recommended torque in the manual was around 180 ft pounds.

Seemed a bit high at the time and my twisting it confirms this. Is there something I'm missing as far as bolt torque? Maybe I'm misreading bolt size as compalred to torque.

Now I'll have fun drilling out the broken bolt!!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thansk

Just a thought:

"Bolt head size" is NOT the same as "bolt size".
