I have a CK2610, when I try to back drag top soil with the bucket the bucket no matter the angle will fold back quite a bit making spreading top soil not very easy. Any suggestions? TIA.

Are you talking about the bucket curl function?

"Floppy Bucket Syndrome". Caused by the volumetric difference between the rod side and piston side of the cylinder. The Low Volume side (Rod End) empties fluid faster that the high volume side causing cavitation of the hydraulic fluid.

Simple fix, install a Flow Restrictor in the Low Volume side at the Loader Quick Coupler (White Hose). This will slow the bucket movement down, but will also act to keep both sides of the cylinder balanced and eliminate most of the "Sloppy Bucket" effect.

Hope this helps

Once you set the bucket on the ground at the angle you want, hold over on the loader joystick a bit longer till you get tension on the bucket (see/feel the bucket start to angle slightly more) Then backdrag.

Yes, this is what I have to do with my CX as well, also I notice if I run too low of RPM it will do it more often. Also, the flow restrictor is a great idea.

Tractor buckets are not exactly the best tool for this task.. rear blade, box blade or land plane would be a better choice.

Old and slow is correct, use float mode to protect your tilt cylinders. Just keep the bucket flat to ground to pull material with the heel of bucket, to release material just move your joystick to the right which will raise the heel and allow material to flow under your bucket. With a little practice it’s easy.

...Forgot to add if you want the method of using the back, heel of the bucket to work even better (in float mode) Fill the bucket with dirt (or rocks) to give it more weight as you back drag it.

You will not flatten it in one drag, you have to go over the area multiple times. Even then, a box blade (or rear blade) might be needed.
