Has any seen or used a back blade from tractor supply company. I am looking at the 5ft model. web page

I have a cheap one from TSC. says its rated for under 35HP. My 20 HP tractor bent it to pieces, but is still usable.

I paid $100 more for a Modern brand 6' blade and it has tilt built in and appears to be more sturdy than the TSC unit. I have hit a lot of roots and rocks with it and had no damage.

Does tilt lower one end of the blade more than the other end?

I'm always getting tip tilt & angle mixed up. L.O.L.

LBrown59,

Yes, I can lower either side of the blade. It has 2 settings on each side, I suspect 22 1/2 deg. and 45 deg. tilt. I can also rotate the blade to any one of about 3 different angles in each direation. I can tilt one side of the blade down and then rotate the high side toward the rear if I want to cut a ditch.

I can also unbolt the blade from the frame and offset it 12" to either side but haven't seen any use for that feature "yet".

BTW, my B7510 rear tires are about 53" to the outsides so I bought a 6' blade. A 5' blade would not cover the tire tracks if I had it angled a lot.

Modern brand implements are made in Beaumont, Texas and I am not sure how far out they distribute. I have the Tilting Utility Blade , second picture from the top.

I also have power Top n Tilt on the tractor so I don't use the blade tilt feature much unless I really want to cut or clean out a deep ditch.

Hey Bill... so about $330 for a Modern? I assume you bought it in Jasper, eh? I've been thinking about one myself. I'll be dealing with Beaumont Tractor.

I paid $335 for my 6' from Jasper Farm & Ranch so the $330 sounds fair to me. My dealer is normally pretty competitive on his implement prices and is cheaper on small parts like linch pins than Tractor Supply.

BTW, we are supposed to have a new Tractor Supply store opening in Jasper August 1.

I bought a little orange 5 foot blade from TSC for use with my BX23 but have only used it for the driveway. I did hit some concrete edging along the driveway but was going pretty slow so it did not bend. Seems solid enough for my little tractor.

Thanks Bill. I've been considering buying one.

My uncle in Browndale will be happy about that! I've been to the one in Beaumont a few times. Never really bought anything... just had plenty of fun looking around!

After choosing the blade consider installing gauge wheels. It makes some jobs very much easier.
