B8200 hyd issues

Hello Forum,
My 85 B8200 Kubota is driving me nuts.With the BF 200 FEL disconnected at quick connects,the tractor power steering and 3 point hitch work fine.When you connect supply to loader,power steering gets hard to turn and loader is slow and weak.But when you pull lever to raise bucket and turn steering wheel at same time,steering works and loader speeds up.This also seems to happen when loader is on ground,pushing lever to lower bucket alone seems weak until you turn wheel and then it will raise tractor front end off ground,Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like something is improperly connected.

On page 20 is an illustration of the critical part of the hydraulic section.

I have attached page 20 but get the complete manual.

I have Workshop manuals for both a B8200 with HST and B8200 with manual transmission.

Thanks Dave,but I have the manual for tractor and loader and all is connected according to diagrams not to mention that none of the lines had been removed until trying to diagnose this problem.The problem has progressively gotten worse over a period of time until the tractor is becoming useless

In looking at parts diagrams I believe your tractor has a single pump with flow divider or priority flow control to provide flow to steering. If this valve is not functioning properly it could cause the problems you are experiencing. This valve is located in the same block as the relief valve

do you know of any checks to isolate this as the problem because it doesn't visually show problems but it does make sense.Of course,availability of parts is also becoming an issue on this tractor.Thanks

Best way to troubleshoot this is with a flow meter installed in the pressure line to the steering unit. This indicates that you are getting flow all the time. No flow steering wheel turns hard.

Do you have a detailed service manual showing parts breakdown? If yes the valve in question is most likely a spool and spring assembly. Possible the spring has taken a set over time or the spool could have picked up a burr. Spool must move freely in the mating bore. Also possible an orifice is partly plugged.

These older tractors used to have a spool on the flow divider that you must change whenever you have a loader installed or not.

In one position, the flow goes straight to the 3 pt and steering. On the other position, with the loader connected, the flow goes through the loader valve, then to the 3 pt.

The spool has only 2 position. Either to one of the stops or to the other. If this spool has moved somehow into a middle position, it might create this symptoms.

Dave M7040 mentioned a very very important page of the Operators manual which kinda explains this valve. It could be better though.

The selector on the hyd. block you are referring to does work as it should,especially with loader disconnected-one way for steering and loader and the other for 3 point.When you connect loader is when things go wrong.

This problem has progressed over a period of time without anything being disconnected or reconnected.It would be pretty hard to connect the quick couplers on the loader incorrectly
