B7800

What do you think about $14500 for the B7800, turfs and 60" mmm? I've looked at darn near everything, almost bought the AGCO ST30 but I keep coming back to Kubota. Thought the B7500 would be enough, and it would, but I just drove a B7800...me likes B7800 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Depending upon your mowing situation, you may want to consider a 72" mid-mower. I like mine a lot, but I can't compare it to a 60" as I have never used a 60" mid-mower.

For what it's worth, I recently saw a used B2910 with 72" mower for sale in North Georgia for $13,000 obo. Only had about 65 hours. (I saw it in the Georgia Farmer's Market Bulletin; I can get the links if you desire...).

I've got a few year old B2910 and can't complain, its a workhorse and very similar to the 7800 from what I can tell.

But the main reason I'm replying is that I think you need to buy what you like and what you are comfortable with. This year I picked up a new NH TC24D, I was shopping Kubota and liked the 7500. The dealer and I go way back, I've bought a White riding mower from him this year, he is also my Cub Cadet dealer and he's where the B2910 came from. But I didn't deal with the owner and got a sales rep who didn't know me so I got the run around and the price was high. I went to the NH guy and he came up with a good price after I beat him over the head with wiffle ball bat (just one time) /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. Anyway my Kubota dealer's sales rep wouldn't budge, wouldn't even call me back. I ended up with the NH because I got a great price, about a grand lower than a comparable Kubota, and I got great service. About a week after delivery of the NH, the owner of the Kubota dealer called my office and asked about the sale of the Kubota. I told him what happened, he apologized, and we mended fences (I bought the White riding mower from him after I bought the NH for his competitor). But I also went back and played with the Kubota and am glad I got the NH.

For the size and price and performance, you can not get me to give up the Kubota B2910. For the size and price and performance, you cannot get me to give up the NH TC24D. For the size and price and performance, you cannot get me to give up the Cub Cadet. I guess my point is, if you are buying ONE tractor, buy the one you really like because you will live with it and be happy with it.

I think the 60" is too small for the B7800.

You want some mower sticking out past the rear wheels of the tractor so you can easily cut close to things. The wheels on my B2910 are about 54" wide with R4 tires. Turfs may be wider. A 60" mower would only give you a couple inches beyond the rear tires. Not enough in my opinion.

I have a 60 inch MMM on my BX2200 and that works fine. BUT the BX rear tires are no where as wide as my B2910.

I had a 60 inch RFM for my B2910 and wished I would have had a 72".

Guess my advice would be to go with a 72" mower, for the B7800, regardless of whether you get a MMM or a RFM.

The B2910/B7800 are for all practical purposes the same tractor. I am sure you will like it if you end up buying one. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Henro, I think you are right on your point. The only way I think it should happen that way is trying to match use for a loader lift or something other wise they will easily run the 72" deck. I have had problems with scalping here a couple of times but by adding two small wheels near the rear center of the deck it has cured the problems.

Henro...I priced the B7800 with a 60"MMM because I will need to be a little more maneuverable to get around and through a few spots to mow. I guess I could get the chainsaw fired up and commence a widening project but wifey may not approve of what I cut down. Your point is well taken regarding the 72"MMM sticking out far enough past the rear wheels. I may have to reconsider the 72. I was going to counter offer the 14500 price but maybe I'll just ask the dealer to sell me the B7800, turfs and 72"MMM for $14500 and get the chainsaw warmed up.

Think the dealer might bite at $14500 with the 72"MMM and turfs?

For what its worth.......I was quoted $16595 for the B7800 and FEL. The woods 7500 BH was $6390. The attitude was take it or leave it with no offer to make me a satisfied customer after the sale. I may go back to the Massey Ferguson dealer. They offered 4 year warranty with free pickup and delivery for life. What value do you place on service like that. The B7800 seems like a real nice machine though.

You might want to look at the new model the 7610 with 24 horsepower and a chassis size not much bigger then several of the sub-compacts! They use the 7510 chassis so they can get around very well with a 60" deck.

Is it just me or do these prices seem high? I got my L3010HST almost three years ago with 72" mower and Loader with heavyduty bucket and turf tires for $19,900. It looks like these prices are pretty high with a loader and mower for an "economy" tractor. The B7800 is a great machine but I think I would shop around some more.

One other thing, if this is your first tractor....don't buy one without a loader. You may not think you have a need for one but trust me you do. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

To put this into perspective the B-2910 retail is 16000 round numbers, and so is the L-3130. The lower of the two is the L-3130 hydro!
