What brand/model is that phd, looks pretty good. I've got the ATI quick- attach, wasn't too expensive, considering how much time it saves.:D

Is there a reason you think it should be under 600 pounds. Mine is over 800 pounds for my B7800. It is perfect so far. You can actually make a 55 gallon drum 1000 pounds. That is less than 1/2 the capability of the 3 point hitch
Sure you can make it as heavy as you want up to 1600 lbs. But with loaded tires that's all he needs.

Oh that makes sense then. your right that would be plenty. I know that with 800 pounds that my hydraulics give out before my rears come off the ground

Timber is always a great resource, greats pics, but I gotta ask - is that a Guinness on that first ballast picture????

could be a skidsteer plow too as I have quickattach. A

srl28, can you tell me more about your quickattach (on a b7800?)

Timber, I noticed in the picture of the front of your tractor you have the detachable forklift prongs. Do they stay attached alright and work ok? I have been considering a set of them and wanted some opinions from somebody that has a set. I think they would be what I need as they would have to come off when the tractor is put back in the barn. I would appreciate your reply and anybody else's also. Thanks.

Well, I don't have the kubota just yet. It is on it's way from my dealer early next week, After x-mas :( . Anyway, I know that the quick attach is from a company by the name of ATI. They also make attachments for skidsteers and tractors. The quick attach allows you to change attachments in a matter of seconds and use just about any attachment there is that can mount to a skidsteer or has the quick attach plate. I know that the dealer had to weld a new mount onto the original kubota bucket so it will attach to the quick attach. Other than that, it's easy and fairly inexpensive, at least I think it's worth it:cool:

Huey- I think that, and nothing against Timber's decision, but that once you have quick attach, it's easier and stronger as well as safer to have regualar skidsteer type pallet forks. They are just about the same price too, maybe a little more, but well worth it IMO.

Yes those forks are great, I bought them with my tractor an I couldn't be more happy with them. They come off and slide left and right for different tasks. They go right over my tooth bar too

Timber,
Thanks for the reply and the additional pictures. They look like well made forks. I will have to start looking around for a set after Christmas. Walmart will surley have them on clearance. Hi Hi. Thanks again.
Huey

srl28, Thanks for your reply also. You are probably right, but I don't have the quick attach set-up on my MX5000, and don't plan on getting one. The forks would not be used very much, but would be real handy to have when needed.

How did a thread about tire chains and snow removal turn into Timber's tractor attachment show-and-tell!! Hahaha. :D

Very informative and entertaining though. But it makes me wish for warmer weather looking at those summertime pictures.
