Hey All-

Now that my Woods backhoe is all up and operational, I am wondering what the proper engine RPM to use is to generate max GPM out of the hydraulic rear remotes powering the backhoe.

Does the GPM output of the tractor increase with more engine RPMS?

Would there be a reason to run the backhoe at a higher vs lower RPM speed? Or do I just find the sweet spot and lock it in for all use-cases?

Any other tips or tricks in regards to tractor settings before using the hoe? Do you guys lift the front wheels w/ the FEL?

Thanks,

Short answer is Yes...Faster RPM's equate to higher GPM's. Also when the GPM's increase so does the speed at which the hoe operates, so you need to find a happy medium.

Beginner operators will benefit from slower operation so they are not slamming the boom from side-to-side.

There is no correct answer-you need to experiment and fing what works for you.

The B7800 also has a Hydro control valve, just below the seat between your feet.

It controls the flow rate... faster.... slower. So depending on your RPM you can control the rate and then determine from system reaction on your BH.

Then figure out what works best for you, RPM, Flow and hydro power.

Cheers and have fun!
