My B7800 began cutting out late last year and has begun doing it again this year. There does not seem to be a consistency to the engine dying. It does it when I am mowing and when I am driving. It will die and I will start it again and begin to engage the pto and then it dies again. It does this a few times before spontaneously firing up again and working properly.

Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Could be an intermittent short in one of the safety wires or switches. PTO lever (front and rear), seat, hydro pedal, come to mind on my B7800. These all have safety interlocks. These would be the first places I would look for on my tractor.

I second that motion. I'd look at the seat switch first.

Me to. The B7800 also has a problem with not starting if the throttle pedal is not dead center, be prepared for that one.
