This morning while working with the B7800 got off the seat and within 15 seconds it died would not start again. Everything is in neutral, parking brake is on. Looked underneath and noticed near the clutch springs a 1/4" or so bolt dangling ???? HELP!! first day I have been able to work since mid Dec.

Is the PTO engaged? if it is it probably wont start due to a safety feature.

perhaps a bracket holding a saftey switch fell out ? I'd run through all the saftey switches you have on the tractor first.

Did you figure out what the dangling bolt was for?:D
got a schematic from Messicks with the clutch assembly but does not show the bolt that is hanging? turned the key to start position gently moved all levers, PTO 's are not engaged.

Check the neutral position of the for-rev treadle. Sometimes I have to jiggle the foot pedal to get the safety switch to engage.

However the loose bolt needs to be thoroughly investigated and returned to its' proper home.

(Check the neutral position of the for-rev treadle) the engine died while it was running and I was off the seat??

the bolt is from part # 110 from the clutch assembly page,it is in its proper home. It has threads on the end of it. Have not yet determined it's function. :(

Since it died and will not crank you have lost power or ground to the system.
