Grading B7610 Rear Blade Size

My friends father was admiring my 6' rear blade,a Woods RB72.I like it and it works well for me on my B3030HSDC.Anyhow,he has a B7610 and we're wondering if the same blade would work on his tractor.I'm sure it would mount up,but it sure is nice to be able to turn it around while attached.We live too far apart to just try it on for size.The same blade I bought two years ago for $450 is now $625! Or any other imput as to an alternate is appreciated as always.Thank you in advance for your replys.

I'd recommend a five foot for that tractor.

I have a 5' box blade on my B7610 and anything bigger would make manouvering tougher.

I have the B7610, and also the woods RB72 rear blade. Works great! I clear the snow off the driveway with no problems. I also re-graded 2 gravel driveways this past fall, and spread out loam for a new lawn.
I wanted the 72" so that even at the max angle, my wheel base was covered.

I use a Woods RB72 on my B7500HSD for snow removal and light dirt work. It has worked fine for me. I can rotate the blade 360 degrees, but not when the 3pt is completely up (catches on u-bolts from Pat's Quick Hitch).

I use a 72" blade behind my 2400 and it works just fine.

Thanks for all the informative replies!Sounds like it would work OK for him if he likes it.I'm wondering why art recommends a 5 footer?Perhaps with his dealership experience,he knows something we don't?Maybe a 5 1/2 foot blade would be the answer-don't recall ever seeing one though.

Please take into consideration what coverage you have with a shorter blade when angled.
The RB72 just covers the tracks on my 7500 when postioned at full angle. I don't have any trouble with a lesser HP machine.

I normally like a little reserve and for some snow falls here, a six would just stop the tractor.

I originally had ordered a 60" Landpride blade to go with my BX2660, but the dealer mistakenly supplied a 72". I decided to keep it with the thought that if I found it too big, I could always cut it down.

I'm glad I kept it. I can pull a full load of gravel with it and it does a great job with snow too. A 60" angled would just cover my treadwidth, but with the 72", I can get better overhang for banking snow or maintaining gravel shoulders. I can fully rotate it while attached to the 3-point.

Off the top of my head, your tractor is around the same hp as mine, but larger and heavier. I don't think you'll have any problem with the larger blade...and if you're wrong, you could always trim it.

Ditto what Big Dad said. I have same set up and due to angle, 6 ft blade is needed to cover the tracks. Never had a horsepower problem with snow.

I'd go with the 6ft. I have a 25 hp and use a 7 foot medium duty blade and wouldn't want anything smaller. At full angle snow doesn't stop me unless I'm going up a good slope. I also use skid shoes when off the driveway in dirt and leave about a 1.5 inch gap. This lets me build up a hardpack base so I'm not digging up the grass/dirt and reduces the drag. I also have no problem with traction in the summer on dirt when the blades angled.

I agree with Bigdad! a 72 works perfect on my 7500, anything less would suck for clearing snow. The 7500 handles it very well!

I agree, I have a 60" Woods blade and I wish I had the 72". The reason I can live with it because I bought it used in excellent condition for 1/2 price of a new one.
