Grading B7610 and B2765 A Front Blade

I also have a new B7610 and was looking for either a blade or a blower for the winter. How do you think the blade would do on 6" or a foot? Is the sub-frame attachment the same for both implements? I live in northeastern MA and for the last 2 years we've been hammered with snow. Last year we had 2 storms close to 2 feet and a couple of other one-footers. I had so much snow I didn't have any place to put it with my 5hp Ariens last year. My thought was that a blower would put the snow far enough away I wouldn't have to worry about it and the 3" or 4" storms I could clean up with the FEL.

Your 7610 looks killer with all the different attachments in your gallery!!!

Skid,

The "quick hitch" subframe fits both the blower and the blade. You can switch from one to the other in about 2.5 seconds.

For heavy snowfall, there is no substitute for the blower. It makes two feet of snow simply disappear before your eyes. On the other hand, when you just want to clean off a couple inches, it seems like a lot of machinery to mobilize for such a paltry task.

I suspect you could clear a foot, maybe more, with the blade. But this is only a guess, since I have not tried it. The problem, I think, will be the build up along the shoulder of the drive as the winter wears on. You don't get that with the blower. The up side is it would give you the opportunity to play with the loader in the winter time.

Thanks for the tractor compliment. That's why she's the Killer B.

Good luck.

The quick hitch needs to come off to put the FEL back on? Is there a separate hydraulic valve for the blower & blade or do you use the same valve for the blade, blower and FEL?

Did you look at the electric rotating discharge chute, I think it would freeze up in one of our famous north east ice storms and it would be useless after a couple of raps with a hammer to break it loose. . .

The blade is a different model than mine, but it basically is designed pretty much the same.

I sprung for the Squeegee with mine as well.

Nice looking rig! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Skid,

Yes, the quick hitch needs to come off before the FEL goes on. This takes about two minutes, including dragging it back to its corner. Even though it is much larger and heavier than the one used on the BX model, I find it easier to install and remove. You can hook it over the front of the frame and then teeter it back to hook up the rear mounting pin. Then tighten the front pincher thingy.

The FEL valve controls everything. No other valves are needed.

I did not look into the electric chute rotator. Those things are for limp wristed long haired dope smoking hippies.

Tom,

What is the model number? You got any pics? I had a choice between the one that goes on the BX and this one, which is made for the little and big B's. The dealer had none in stock and no pictures of either model. I had a hard time deciding. Does yours have the replaceable scraper blade, trip springs, and skid shoes?

Maybe you can better answer Skidmarks's question about how much snow can be plowed with these things.

Thanks,

KB

BX2763, it's a 60 inch blade with the replaceable/reversible blade point, trip springs and skid shoes.

I can't help much as far as how much it will actually handle as I have had it two years this October and We have yet to have a snow over 3 or 4 inches , I never even used it last winter as We hardly had any snow at all.

This pic isn't too clear as it was taken with a disposable camera. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
