Ok guys I'm new to the tractor buying process, but I'm looking at the B7500 hydro. My question is does all the hydro transmissions make a whineing sound when moving forward and reverse? The one I tested was extremely noisey and seemed to me that after a while would get on one's last nerve. Give me some feedback!!!!!

When it's workin' hard....it's whineing hard! Whines extra hard when you forget and leave the brake on. Funny thing is, I never really thought of it as being annoying. It's the funny metallic noise that comes from the rear somewhere when running in high range that sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard that I find annoying.

Don't particularly like that whine myself, but it's normal.

That mostly depends if your in high or low range and what type of work your doing and the throttle setting.
Useing a fel I like low range about half throttle and take my time ,also when mowing heavy grass.

I use high range when traveling also plowing snow down hill etc..

Hydro vs Gear shift there are pros and cons..I rather have a little noise than be shifting lot.

a little whine is normal> u get used to it. but it should not be exessive. hard to tell u what is normal, it is like trying to tell the color blue, get my drift? u have to decide if it seems TOO loud. was this a new tractor?

Yup, they whine. They whine more when under high load, so make sure you haven't left the brake on. I think mine has gotten quieter as it has gotten more hours on it, or maybe I'm just getting used to it?

Most tractors with a fluid drive of any kind will whine a little.

I noticed the whine quieted down quite a bit right after the first transmission oil change. I used Super UDT, maybe that made a difference.
