As stated in other posts I have 4 acres, 2 field and 1 woods. I want to clear trails, mow and general estate work. In the groups opions does it make financial sense over the long term to buy a tractor new? feedback please. I am looking at a B7500, mmm, FEL

If you can locate second hand tractor to fit your needs in which been taken <font color=red>really<font color=red><font color=black> good care of,I would consider purchasing.

You maybe wiser to purchase a new tractor w/all your needs,for a darn good second hand tractor price compare brand new tractor not all that much different.

If you have the $$ & lot seat time ahead of you in the years to come..I would go new...just my 2 cents worth. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

And I would add...IF you have $$ like Thomas points out...at least look at the B2710 or B2910. I have about the same size property to deal with as you do, and worked my way up from a BX22 to a B2910 before purchasing. Now I am REALLY glad I went with the larger tractor.

it really all depends on the PRE OWNED tractor that u come across. i know a fella that got a used 2400 with 64 hrs with hd fel, befco 5 ft finish mower, rear back blade bought out of state and saved the 8% sales tax. tractor was only 2 years old, mower i year old and back blade was never used. all told he saved about $3000.00 . but they are hard to find.

I found a 2001 B7500 HST with 38 hours on it. I paid $13,000 it with the 302A FEL, 48 inch Land Pride Hog, KK 5 foot rake, 5 foot back blade. Including transportation costs.

I have thirty acres in woods, river ravine, yard and pasture. I thought it was going to be to small of a tractor at first and I was wrong.

It handles a 48 inch brush hog with ease, cutting new trails though inch thick willows. I've hauled several tons of stones for the cottage we are building next year. I'm hauling in trees for firewood now, even pulled a lightning struck oak that was on the bank edge and the tree was 6 feet down in the river.

I just made my turn-around alot larger using a dirt scoop and a 6' rear blade. All road fill (heavy dirt, lots of rocks and hunks of road). Made a mole hill out of a mountain. The rear blade did a good job of grading but a york rake may have been better.
The 7500 is a great tractor and has handled anything I've tried.

B7500HST Pricing

I have been in the market for over a year now and used this board extensively (thanks to all those who have previously posted!). I am ready to buy a B7500HST with 60MMM, 302FEL, and filled R4's. The un-negotiated price is $14,555. Does this sound like an appealing price? Has anyone had much luck with serious negotiating in these economic times? Would 5-10% off this price be reasonable?

This past Spring I bought the same tractor LESS the mower, and I filled my own tires. The price was $12,800. Sounds like a good deal. I shopped three places. The most expensive was $1,500 more, and the other was in between.............chim

It's a great little tractor you will be amazed at what you can do.
I paid $9700 for my B-7500 HST tactor only.
