Absolutely wait. The B3350 has been a very problematic machine.

According to the published specs in the Kubota sales brochure dated 06/16, which I have in my hand, Engine gross HP is 33.0 (SAE J1995) and PTO HP is 27.0.

I have been "told" that the HP rating of the forthcoming LX 3310 will be the same.

Yes, the LX 3310 will replace the B3350 and is expected at the dealers in the spring.

The LX series will have a similar 4 cylinder engine with a common rail injection system and an emissions system similar to that used on other Kubota tractors that have been much less troublesome. There will be some other improvements/enhancements as well, e.g., drive in FEL with auto connect 4 hose hydraulic manifold, etc. You can also expect a price increase.

HP rating will remain the same as the 3350.

I use tractordata specs only as starting points as there are many inaccuracies therein.

Unless you put your tractor on a Dyno, isn't all written information about it speculation and possibly riddled with inaccuracies? Thus all things you read are simply a guide.

An example of this is the current emissions issues. The guides used to determine HP have softened. A slight blurring of accuracy is now acceptable. There is no enforceable regulatory guidance required. The manufacturers wiggle around in this soft goo all the time.

I guess everyone is right. It all depends on what type of HP is being referenced.

From wholegoods listing 2016:

B3350HSD...................... B3350HSDC
SAE Gross HP: 33.0 ........ SAE Gross HP: 33.0
Engine Net HP: 29.6 ....... Engine Net HP: 29.6
PTO HP: 27.0 ................. PTO HP: 27.0
Ei Mdl V1505 ................. Ei Mdl V1505

Net and PTO are the only relevant numbers above in my opinion. Unless your willing to run your engine without water pump, fan or alternator. :D

Well stated and proven. Much better than my rambling explanation above. :)

And then there are tractors with actual test results by the Nebraska Tractor Test Lab. Sadly there are no test results for the B3350. Nebraska does not require testing tractors with 40 HP or less. (Unclear if this 40 HP limit is gross or net.)

Note the SAE spec referenced above.

I would trust the manufacturer's published specs before I would trust any dealers dyno.

any particular reason why 33hp or 29.6hp would make a difference in this tractor ? Just Curious as Im a new to Orange guy.

And with all due respect, I'd be just the opposite. Manufacturers will state HP and not disclose that it's determined mathematically without any accessories. Is that honest?

Because 29.6 is 90% of 33. If it's okay with you that the manufacturer's machine only produces 90% of it's claimed power, then it's okay with me.

Seems to me that it produces precisely what is claimed. 33 Gross HP is 33 gross HP, which is what is stated in the sales brochure. 27.0 PTO HP is 27.0 PTO HP, which is what is stated in the sales brochure.

I fail to see how anyone can interpret this to mean that the engine does not produce the HP, gross or PTO, that Kubota claims that it does.
