I am with Ductape on this one. I have no use for one, but would like to have it anyway; very nice little tractor. You only live once, so you might as well have fun while you're here.

Own one. Makes snow removal a looked forward to event. Nice to mow w/ air too. Load the tires- makes it feel and perform like a different tractor.

Nice tractor..lots of reading on tire choice...everyone has their own opinion...just depends what you are going to do with the tractor.R4's and snow=chains.Mud and R4=chains.If you are doing lawn work, staying on drive ways R4 will work.

I think you should buy it, I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself.

I like some rear remotes.

My R4's do OK in snow, but not good, if we got more I would have to get chains.

Probably about the going price, I'd say. In Feb. 2009 I paid $20,100 for the tractor with winter cab (HSDCC) and another $4700 for the LA403 loader.
A few years earlier I paid $1850 for a Buhler Farm King Y600 3PH blower. Add in the sales tax and you're in the same ball park as I paid 2 years ago. Not bad.
If your price is for a front mount blower, you're doing better yet. My tractor was on the lot with a front mount blower, but I ditched it in favor of the loader because I already had a like new snow blower sitting home in the barn. The tractor just wasn't worth a lot to me without a loader.
If you have any mechanical abilities, buy the stereo mount from Kubota and your stereo/speakers from anyplace else you choose. Kubota's website is showing $720 for stereo (AM/FM/MP3/CD). You can do it yourself for much cheaper.

Tony,

Is that the front mounted blower? How many remotes did you have them install?

I just got one. Double rear remotes, wheel spacers, loader, loaded
tires. Your price is in line with what I paid. Mine has turf tires. I had
a B7800 with R-4s and they weren't worth a darn in snow or mud.
The turfs are MUCH better and won't chew up your lawn quite as much.

Hope this helps.

Bill,

Did you get a snowblower with yours?

Great snow removal machine! If someone hasn't suggested it already, the block heater is a good addition too.

Don't be a tire-kicker.

Spend a few dollars more (or squeeze the dealer) and get the hdcc model. It gives you a rear window defogger and wiper. Mine cost me a couple of hundred more but it sure is nice at 20 below. Be sure to wave at the neighbors while moving snow in your shirtsleeves.

I have the R4s. I have a set of chains for all 4 tires. Don't use them a whole lot, but there are times when I at least like to put on the front chains. Don't have too many problems with those tires in the mud, and most of my property is sloped. As a matter of fact, I've been working the last couple of days in muddy, snow covered, and icy dirt. Tires spin a little, but not enough to make me want to stop and put the chains on.

It's unstoppable with chains on.

I just don't get the complaints about the R4s - they're not that bad, and for me, they are the best option. A friend has R1s and they're no better in snow than the R4's. I don't care what anyone says about Turfs in snow - we had them on a Yanmar in CT years ago, and they sucked in the snow, especially in the deep stuff. Turfs would be the best on ice, but still not much to write home about.

Go with the R4s and order a set of chains to have at the ready. I'd recommend chains as a backup with ANY tire choice.

You'll love your new machine. Just got mine yesterday. Been concerned about it not fitting in the shop. Shop door is standard 7 footer. Measured my machine twice at the dealer (turfs are on it) and contrary to the dimensions on the Kubota Canada site, it's a good bit lower at the cab line.
R4's are standard I guess, and no doubt taller.

Took measurements again today, and convinced myself to try. Rolled the door all the back so the edge was above the 7' mark, and made sure nothing was going to hit the cab. Rotated the amber lights downward somewhat as well as the antenna. AND IT FITS. A good inch clearance.

You don't enter fast, and you make sure the snow and ice are gone, but it fits...:D

I drive mine in front first. That way I can start blowing snow right at the garage entrance with the rear blower. No packing down snow with the tractor before I engage the snow blower.
