Although bigger always seems better when it comes to tractors, I doubt that I could afford an L-series with 30 hp or more (in good shape).

Not bigger; HEAVIER.

What is available in the used market, and used pricing, is mostly ordered by random.

There are couple Ls and a couple Bs for sale on eBay, near Zip Code 15301, right now:

There are a number of (orphan) Ford tractors listed pretty cheap. There are numerous Ford tractor fans active here. Here is where you can determine Ford tractor weights and details: TractorData.com - information on all makes and models of tractors

The B3300SU owner says he bought the unit brand new from a dealer. It didn't come with a FEL.

I own a B3030 cabbed model. First thing that I would advise you is to stay away from the tractors with the new emissions if you can. However, having said that, I agree with an earlier poster. If you have 10 acres, I believe you should consider going with an L series. You will never ask to have less power with a tractor--only more. I'm also assuming that you get some big snow in your area. A heavier tractor will make shorter work of its removal. Whatever you buy, see if you can get a set of rear chains thrown in. And if you opt to get the rear tires loaded, I recommend foam in my opinion. It's more expensive and maybe a rougher ride, however, you will be able to drive over nails and never worry about getting a flat.
