b3030 tlb, adding LED lights w/o the upgraded alternator

how much was the upgrade? did you do it yourself? what did the kit come with? just curious if the kit is nothingmore than a belt, alternator and a bracket

light switch felll apart after about 3 hours, gonna look for another one that is built a little better. I have been running a medium size cat track hoe for a week, the light switches on it cought my eye.

I really dont remember the cost...its been "a day or two" since I installed it. A friend and I did it together..mainly because anything I do I always need a 3rd hand..
Everything is there..parts-wise. And the instructions say to replace the dipstick and tube...but wasnt no way I was getting into that. A slight bend in the tube for the dipstick to clear the hood lets it work fine.
Its a lot of $$ but in the long run its worth it all in piece of mind.

Interesting thread, all the tractors I looked at had 50 amp alternators. Did not think much of the Kubota specs and the ommission of Alternator specs till I got my B3200 home and noticed the tiny alternator. I mean my Briggs and Stratton Vtwin has a 16 amp generator built in. So much for the idea of adding an Electric winch.

Lots of difference in dynamo's...generators....and alternators!

you might try a switch from a boat supplier they tend to withstand the vibration better than automotive grade, and are more weather resistant

I'm using these. I have 2 installed in my fender, and after 3 years of mud and winter are still working great.

This is how I mounted my lights. I ran the wiring insides the ROPS and left slack to allow them to fold. My LED upgrade is coming soon.

Should never drill or weld to ROPS. It can weaken it.
