I just got my B3030 and was wondering if there are any glow plugs in there. When you turn it to the position, all that happens is the light on the dash lights up. On my holland there is a loud clicking noise. Are there any plugs in there or do I have to buy them too???

Your B3030 has glow plugs. When you hold the key and the light is on you are working the glow plugs. No loud clicking just a light.

When you turn the key, the light for the glow plug is yellow/gold. It's located directly under your red battery indicator light, and directly to the left of your fuel gauge. Looks like a yellow horizontal spring. Let us know if you find it, if not I'll send a picture over to you.

When I turn the key on my B3030 there is a very loud single click. I believe this is the fuel solenoid. The oil and battery light are on. Turn the key a little to the right and the glow plug indicator should light up. Turn the key a little more to engage the starter.

This procedure is in the owner's manual.

It's also worth mentioning that unlike some diesel vehicles, there isn't a timed glow plug relay that breaks the circuit automagically. The glow plugs will stay lit indefinitely as long as you hold the key in that spring position. Usually just a few seconds is adequate, slightly longer in colder weather.

I haven't yet bothered to track down what makes that loud 'click' when you turn the key on... that would have to be one beast of a fuel solenoid to be that loud! It sounds more like a big contactor pulling in.

That was probably a bad guess on my part. It does sound like Victor von Frankenstein is getting ready to go to work.

Lanse - Where are you located? Just curious because there is a town a few hours from me named Lanse. You wouldn't happen to be in the U.P. would ya? Thought there might be another yooper on the forum.:)

What am I missing here?
Just got my (Used, no manual) B3030 and have yet to see the glow plug indicator stay on.
Seems the ignition switch has only 3 positions, off, on, start. No turn CCW position, just off, on, start. The light comes on briefly in the start position.
Is there a temperature sensor in the circuit?
Haven't tried to start it below 70 deg yet, that's about as cool as it's been here.
