I have 12 acres of very wooded and steep sloped land. I need to maintain my road of about 1/4 mile, plow snow in the winter and landscape around my new house. I have a B3030 with a FEL. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what impliments I should buy for these projects? (box scraper, rake, rear blade) I have heard pros and cons about the different manufactures and could use any input as to what is a good piece of equipment and what is not. Any help is appreciated.

I believe these are the attachments you need for your projects. My experience with Landpride has been good. I had a B7800 and traded it for a L3240HST. I have a landpride 6'RFM which did not tax the B7800 in power but was a bit heavy for it when turning at the bottom of the hill. It does tax the L3240 when cresting the steep hill. The mower would sort of swing the B7800 but it wasn't really a problem. I believe the B3030 instead of the L3240 would have been a better choice in my case with my steep hillsides. I have 5 acres and maintain a little over 3 of them. They are on a hillside with rolling and some trees in one corner. The other 2 acres are to steep for me to tackle and the 3 keep me busy. Traded my BX1500 for a BX2350 so I use it for most mowing. I also have a landpride box blade and not sure what brand my landscape rake is. Had a Jolle RFM and it was junk. Maybe ok for a flat perfect yard but my land beat it to death and it started falling apart.

I'd recommend a box blade for the driveway maintence and a possible blade in the front and blower in the rear to clean-up the banks for the winter.

we are always happy to spend other's $$$$. :) I have a similar situation - 14 acres about 60% timber, large yard, and 700' driveway that is hilly. I also have a B3030 w/ FEL. I bought a 6' blade that works well with the tractor. I have a 6' rotary for the heavy stuff, a MMM for the finshed yard, a 3 pt hitch fertilizer spreader, and middle buster for maintaining the small ditch along the driveway which keeps the water off the road. if $ is not a problem I would buy both a regular blade and a box blade because at times you need both. But you can get by with one or the other.

RussMan, How does your B3030 handle the 6' rotary cutter? I have been debating buying one for my fields to help save wear and tear on the 72" MMM for approx 5 acres of pasture mowing.

I would love a 6' hog to get the fields done more quickly, but worry that if I ever go to do any heavy work with it, that I will run out of juice to run it if you consider the 5pto hp/foot kind of rule. I think our tractors have a tad over 23 pto hp.

I would be interested in your feedback on how it works relative to how you use it.

Sorry for the somewhat OT, please feel free to reply in PM or email if needed!

Thanks,
Steve

the 3030 handles the rotary just fine. Mine is an older rotary, and hence relatively heavy but it handles it fine. Of course you could buy a lighter model if you had that concern. I would add that I almost always have the FEL on so that may help "anchor" the tractor a bit - haven't tried it w/o the FEL so not sure but I would bet it handles better with the FEL on. I would think the tractor would be a little light on the front end lifting a heavy rotary. But I have never really felt I was underpowered on PTO.

Thanks for the information. I also have a 5' rotary cutter that I use once a month to "mow" my son's 3 acre field. The B3030 has no problem with it but I wish I had bought the 6' model.
