B3030 HSDC Wont Start

Got it back today. $416 to install 2 eighteen dollar safety switches. Yikes:confused2:

Wow. I would have been tempted to cut the wires where I could get to them and twist them together to complete the circuit to avoid that charge, but we all know that's a no-no ;)

Can you post the part numbers of the items you had replaced. I have a cab b3030 and would like to have this info for future reference.

The PTO switch, which is under the seat and floor board was melted due to transmission heat. Service dept. said it was in a place where I could not get to it because of the cab. He feels it is defective engineering due to being plastic and it's placement so close to the transmission. He is hoping Kubota has seen this before and will just replace the part, but he has no way of knowing until the part comes in. The transmission gets plenty hot after mowing for 3 to 5 straight hours at a time. Even if the part is covered by Kubota, the labor is going to be a killer.

Biz, The service dept said it was in a place where you could not get to it. Prior to taking it the shop had you located this switch or did you miss it entirely? Knowing where it is now could you have fixed it yourself or would it have been to much of a hassle? Glad you are back up and running. Thanks, Stanley

I had no idea of where it was. I would not have thought to remove the seat and floor board. Actually, didn't even know it was possible to remove the floor board. I'll know for next time because they replaced it with the same plastic sensor switch as before, so I suppose after another 300 hours it will melt again.

Biz, thanks. When I first got my B3030 I unhooked the switch under my seat and ran a jumper wire between the two so I can get off the seat while mowing and the blades continue to spin. I'm guessing this is the same switch you replaced. Thanks for your reply. Stanley
