Great explanation of position control.
To clairify, the JD2520 (and 2320, 2720) have a larger chassis, wheelbase like the B2630, B3030, B3200, the B2920 are maybe 6" smaller with smaller wheels. My personal preference would be the B2630, B3030 only because I love the treadle pedal for the HST, both my previous tractors had it, liked it better than separate pedals. But maybe I should go the extra $1000 to get it since Kubota is changing all tractors to separate pedals, can't see an extra $2500 for the B3030.
Maybe I should check with Barlows for a B2630.

On a road trip last summer I stopped at a Kubota dealership in MO to get an accessory that they carried. While there, I sat on some tractors and the one I really liked was a B3030. My dealer did not stock them because he said he had not found most buyers willing to pay the extra vs the more basic models and I suspect that was an accurate statement. At the time I bought I knew so little and was already so confused between the models that I also probably would have not paid the extra. But the position control, the telescopic stabilizers instead of turnbuckles and the telescopic lower arm links are really better. Also just the feel of a little wider stance and that you seem to sit more down in the tractor makes it seem like it would feel more stable. I would still prefer the suspended mower deck on the 2x20 series, but otherwise, I think a B2630 or B3030 would be a great choice. If I was personally buying one, I would probably opt for the 60" MMM instead of the 72". At one point some of the members were saying they were getting a rebate on the 2630, but I don't know if that is still going on or not.

Believe it or not these discussions may be talking me into the JD2520, 26.5 HP, FEL with removable bucket, position control, drive over mower deck, larger chassis than B2920 for stability for $18,500 about $1500 less than B2630, maybe I should post in JD forum, sorry Kubota.

My personal preference would be the B2630 regardless of cost, but I believe all TBN members strive to provide the best information available to us to help other members make the right decision for them, in this case it may very well be a John Deere.

I think it is a wise move for all new tractor shoppers to cast a wide net and look at all of the top manufacturers. Good luck.

Thanks for all the information, I read the posts to learn, I listed the prices I talked with dealers because for a tractor buyer there doesn't appear to be a 'Edmunds' to help out. I wish all who purchase would post their prices.
Also found an old picture of my B1750, it had Bar Turf tires on it, never knew what they were back then, buy do remember the great traction in snow and they never left a mark on the grass. My L3010 had R4's, hated them.
Now the latest thought, buy the B2920 with bar turfs, and because it has the three range transmission, JD has two and JD owners wish for three in a lot of posts. The B2920 appears to be the only size tractor with bar turfs, rare tire, otherwise would have picked the B3200.

Just an update, looking at Kubota B2920, FEL, 60" MMM, and backhoe, but wife is hesitant about expense of backhoe. Any comments from people who have one?

Have the B3200 TLB and I can honestly tell you it is quite the tractor, lots of power.
