Spent some time looking for a small utility tractor and decided on the B2650.Took delivery yesterday afternoon. So far it looks like it will fit what I need- spent some time in the wood yard with it this morning before the mud thawed. I do need to spread the rears a little. It's a little tippy compared to my others but hopefully spacers will help some. I went with the loader, 60" belly mower and a 72" blade. I have several heads for my L5030 but they might be a little heavy for this one. Would like any feedback if this might need some shields underneath. We have lots of hills and will be in the woods with it.

Congrats on the machine. Specialty repairs (Kathy and Paul Short) sell custom guards for the underbelly (filters, etc) on the B2650 out of Canada. Independent fabricators and very nice folks. They are on Youtube.
For spacers if you are under warranty better make sure they dont void it. I was told any aftermarket spacers would void warranty if a roll, rear axle, or something related to it went wrong. They didnt tell me not to do it, they just warned me.

Thanks for the replies. I will keep this mower off my skid trails but we have a hike/snowshoe trail system that takes me 3-4 hours to mow with a wheeler and a 44" Swisher mower. They're cleared trails and I hope this mower will work on most of them.
I saw the Shorts' videos on youtube- looks like he does some nice work and great ideas. I was wondering if anyone has had any trouble w/o using any shields??
I'm sure there would be warranty issues if you're using spacers but with our hills I think it's worth the risk.
I use to live not far from you Jchonline- just on the west side of Deadman.
One more question- the manual says 200 hr oil change after break-in - does everyone run that long??

I haven't filled the rears yet- not sure what I want to do about ballast yet. I have weights and fluid on my L5030 but it costs 150-200 when I get a rear flat. I can fix the rears if they aren't filled.
You're right- the first oil change is 50 hrs but then it jumps to every 200 hrs. Just wondering if everyone stays with that schedule. I think I may change every 100 hrs.

You will have no warranty issues if you use the Kubota supplied 1 3/8" spacers. I have these on my B3350 and can think of no reason to go wider. Yes, they are expensive.
Probably too late now, but oversized R-4 tires are available for the B2650 and 3350. These will increase the width (and diameter) a bit. I considered them for my 3350 but declined upon learning that I could not use tire chains, front turn stops were required (increasing turning radius), and MMM options were limited.

Bro-Tek claims their 2" spacers will work with the 60" belly mower I have. I measured it up and it looks like enough clearance they should be ok. I really need to space these as far as I can get away with.
I looked at the ballast box they had at the dealer-It's nice but $300. Might be just as good to cast my own. How much weight is everyone carrying in theirs?? 4 cubic ft of concrete would give me just shy of 600lbs.

I had a Kubota Ballast box on my BX2660. It was handy as a newbie. Since then I sold the Ballast Box (and BX2660) and have found that various rear attachments serve just as well as ballast. Right now I have a Spiker/Aerator attachment that holds 46 gallons of water, which make a ballast of around 627 lbs. So far other attachments such as a Rear Blade or a Box Blade that happen to be attached have served as enough.
The only advantage that I noticed is that the dedicated Ballast Box takes up less space in the rear for maneuvers in tight quarters.

That is precisely why I use ballast boxes. Fewer maneuverability compromises and less storage space.

I also like a dedicated ballast box for the same reasons as sdt. I did alot of testing when fabbing up my ballast box. I kept adding 100lbs at a time to feplanted with a heaping bucket of dirt driving around on uneven ground. I found I needed right around 700lbs to do max loader work. Hope this helps.
