I heated up the spring beside the safety switch on my B2601. It was a long time ago and don't remember how hot but guessing around 600 degrees with a heat gun, not enough to discolor the spring, but so that the switch wouldn't kill the engine until I left the seat.

Anybody that does not use a seat belt and keep the ROPS in place whilst operating any machine equipped with them is an idiot who steals oxygen.

Four posts in 2 years, and this is the best you can do to add value to the conversation?

I'm happy stealing oxygen!

Whenever I need the seat safety switch to stay quiet (particularly when mowing fields on hot days when I like to stand up to relieve my butt for a few go-rounds) I use my trusty bungee cords strapped across the back of the seat [to the ROPS] to keep the seat in place. Works fine on my B2650 so should work on a B2601. BTW several bungee cords strapped on the ROPS in back and the brush guard in front are handy and always seem to be used for one thing or another - for example keeping the top-link up and away from banging against the PTO cover when no implement is on the three-point.

yep! Thanks!

I use the rubber bungees, but have not strapped the seat...yet! ;-)
