Tractor
Kubota B26 now L39
Hey guys....been a while. I have been busy digging:). Bought a new B26 10 months ago. I put 481 hours on it in that 10 months. I removed 6,000 yards of sand with the loader and dirt scoop in back. Dug 1,000 yard drainage ditch, removed 23 oak trees with stumps, and maintained a half mile driveway that I built with clay and sand (with B26). The 3 acre pond I am digging is now down to the heavy clay. Although I love the B26 and the economy of the diesel consumption, I realize it is time that I get a larger tractor. So, the M59 will be delivered next week:D. I hope it is worth it.

Well, I'm still reeling over the price of our M59....so I'm also hoping it is worth it. But it has exceeded all of our expectations with the power and ability to get things done. It isn't perfect, and there are even some annoyances. But I haven't found any problems that affect the amount of work it gets done. If the model is successful then it seems likely that the little things will changed in future versions.

It handles that huge front bucket fine. The backhoe is a joy. It is a 60 HP turbo, and if you work at high RPM it will use more fuel than a smaller diesel. I'm not in any hurry to get our jobs done, so I often turn off the auto throttle feature and control the engine speed with the manual lever. That way it is quiet and more economical.

I think you are going to like it. Did you load up on accessorties? Be sure to save a little bit of money for implements. One that I'm just starting to fool around with is the quick attach front 3 pt from Land Pride.

rScotty...thanks for the reply, you're still reeling over the price and I am fixing to reel :). I think I got a pretty good deal. 84 inch quick attach bucket, 24 inch backhoe bucket, 3 point hitch, 7 foot box blade, bucket hooks, a couple of gallons of tire sealant and a demand that they unhook the backup alarm :D. $46,700 drive home price. Do you think this was a good deal? I was also looking at a brand new L39 with same set up for $36,900, I could have loaded that L39 with 4 in 1 bucket, backhoe thumb and still saved about $5000-6000. I hope I made the right decision.

It sounds like you are paying less than I did, but I did load mine with more accessories. All in all I'd say it is about the same price. The one accessory that I'm glad I got is the backhoe thumb. I didn't get a 4n1 bucket and don't miss it.
In my opinion there is a lot of difference between the L39 and the M59 with the L39 winning on economy and the M59 for shear muscle.

Bigger machine, much more power= pond finished much sooner = big fat bass socked in that pond much sooner!!! Good idea.
