One of the 3 return lines to the plastic fuel tank on my B2400 is leaking. The barbed bulkhead fitting (not sure if that's the right term) cracked, alomst flush with the outside of the tank. I tried to remove the fitting, but I'm uncertain whether it is molded into the tank.

One thought I had it to plug the cracked fitting and thread another barb fitting into the tank adjacent to the plug.

I looked at the gas tank repair kit recommended on a similar post, but it says it's not for use on plastic tanks.

thanks!

Well, I gave using JB Weld a shot. I stuck a piece if #12 solid wire w/insulation inside to hold the barb in place and formed a collar as best as I could. Let it set overnight and reassembled. Looking forward to seeing if it will hold up. May have to wait a few days until the rain stops. Could not find whether JB Weld is compatible with diesel or not.

It appears JB Weld kind of sticks to the tank, but diesel was still seeping out. I drilled out the repair area and ran a 1/4" NPT tap and installed a barb fitting.

Cut the lawn, and checked the a few times. All is well.
