I notice on my b series that the air return in the cab seems to have a lot of condensation that sits in the tray where the filter slides in. I couldn't see where the drain is and enough condensation fills up and overflows under my floor mat. Is this normal? Seems like it should be draining out of the machine another way.

Any thoughts or ideas on what to look for?

I have two "B" series and while I use them mainly in the winter, there are plenty of times that I run them during the summer with the AC on. I have never had anything spill out onto the floor mats. There must be a plugged drain somwhere...

Thanks. Do you see water pooling in the collection plate that the in cab filter slides into? I can't find a drain there. My machine only has 350hrs and it took about 700 before my Skidsteer drain hose clogged up.

Do you mow with your b series? How do you like the machines overall? I Just got the B series 56 turbo a couple of weeks ago. So far, I love it. What's the most you have lifted?

I've been running my skidsteers for 10 years upgrading every 1000-1100 hours. I am thinking about running TC's and one skidsteer going forward since the TC is so versatile and comfortable.

I have never had any water/fluid pool in the cab. I do have all of the manuals including parts numbers. I will see if I can find the location of the drain in the manual and let you know. It will be about a week before I get into the shop. I'm busy at my "other" job.

I have never mowed with my TC's. They are used in the winter for snow removal with buckets and blowers. I'm not usre what the max amount I have lifted. I do run an 88 inch snow bucket on one TC, and it holds a ton of snow. I liked the TC so much after getting the first one that I sold my CAT 910 and bought another TC. I thought long and hard about a skid (S300) but the visability out of the TC compared to the skid was unbelieveable.

Mine has pooled in the cab since day one. The dealer said it was normal.

Your drains are stopped up. To clear the drain, you must remove a cover plate under the cab. It is a long metal piece just ahead if the hydraulic drain pipe, and is held on by several bolts. I thing that just general dust and dirt seems to stop them up. Also, some units had one drain while others have two.
Mine seem to stop up every summer at least once. Hope this helps. If under warranty, let Bobcat do it.

Great thanks for the info. It is going in for its one year service next week.

I took off the bottom plate and didn't find any drain tubes. My cab still fills with condensation water and runs out under the floor mats. I know there must be a drain under the cab because it drips under the cab but my filter gets wet, making it inefficient when it gets sticky with dust.

/ B series AC question #10
There shouldn't be any condensation in the cab! Air conditioning cools the air by taking humidity from the air and draining it directly outside (not in the cab or through the cab). I am still suspicious that the heating core on these machines is prone to leaks. This would explain the inside moisture in summer and winter.

I still get plenty of water in the cab. Overflows from AC just in front of filter, and runs out under the floormats. Steady stream of cool water so I know it's from AC. Can't find a drain under the cab that I could simply blow out like I do on my bobcat ss. SS have easy access to condenser coils and condensation drain. In fact, I opened and cleaned mine out in 30 minutes including moving machine to flush with water. Don't know where to begin on TC.

Is there a recessed area in the floor where the water sits? Can a small hole be drilled to drain the water out?

/ B series AC question #13
Maybe get someone to ride with you and see if they can feel exactly where the water is dripping from.

Or put some papertowel on the floor and see where the first drips appear. Although I have seen cars where condensate water would pool up in part of the duct work and then pour out all at once during a turn or stop.

I will take some picttures. The water pools in the tray where the filter slides in and overflows to the right or left depending on how the machine sits. I put a damp rid in it overnight and will do so. I don't see how I can get a regular drill into the area to create a drain so I am probably going to take it to the shop where they will have a right angle drill. Need to rig it up right so I don't suck dust from the hole straight to the filter.
It would be much easier to find the drain that should be there and unclog it but it has proven elusive.

I understand the immediate fix of draining cab, but why is it in the cab. It would be like drilling a hole in your bedroom so the window air conditioner can drain.

There should be an evaporator core, generally housed in a plastic or steel box. That is where the condensation forms. There must be a plugged drain hole in that box. Works just like your car or truck. Ask your dealer. He should know where the drain hole is located. Maybe remove the filter and look in the box.

I found a small hole on the side of the tray that the condenser sits in. The hole spills over to the floorboard.. what's up with that.

I may have to take everything apart and look for the drain. I understand how AC works and it makes no sense not to have a drain. ON the b series, the AC straddles the middle of the cab. A metal sided filter slides in from driver's side and is secured with tough velcro. There is room for water to collect but it doesn't seem to go anywhere fast. I'm guessing there isn't a good hole to drain and/or it is clogged with dirt and mud like my skidsteers do. If I could see it, I could blow it out with an airgun but I can't see anything in front of the condenser coils.

Yellowdogsvc,

I need to do some mowing this week. I will look under mine after running the A/C a while and see where it drains. It's been really hot and humid here so it shouldn't be hard to see where it drains. Mine stays dry as a bone under the in-cab filter.

I did look in the manuals but did not find any reference to the drain. I wouldn't think you should have to remove the center console to find/clear the drain but if it comes to that I can post the steps if you don't have the service manual.

dsb, thanks. My filter stays wet and then it isn't as efficient. When my drains were stopped up on my skidsteer, I could really feel the difference in the cab.

Yellowdogsvc,

I've never cleaned my drain, never even thought of it actually, but my filter stays dry and even in the hot muggy weather we are having I only run the the blower on low with the AC and it's very comfortable. Yours should be no different. I do pull out the primary and secondary filters periodically to clean them but never find much. The door covering the condensor....now that's a different story.
