Hi Everyone,

I am looking at possibly upgrading my BX 2350 since it is now payed off. I just looked at a B 2620. The price includes a backhoe, soft cab, loader, mid mount mower, and rear mount snowblower. I was told about $28,500. Does this seem like a good price to everyone? Just wondering. Also was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions of a different size machine. I appreciate everyones help.

I did the same thing. I can't help you much on price, as I bought just the tractor and the FEL One thought, I found the 2620 just right for my needs and my wallet-but if I was buying the package you are, I would think strongly about a B3030.

For me, it was the difference between swapping my BX 2200 and $8,000 for the 2620, or the BX and $12,400 for the 3030. Again, if I made the size of purchase you are making, I would have bought the 3030 for the increased power and featues.

Barlows is advertising a new left over B2710 for $19500 with BH and FEL. Has full warranty and 0% 42 months. That leaves alot of money to get the snowblower and mower. I've just traded them a 6' Landpride Rear finish mower that would fit on it nicely. Also they have a B3200 with 40 hours that has just been traded in to them. They'll take yours and leave you theirs.

I am in the same position with a BX24 TLB and am considering something bigger. I looked at the various B series and I wonder if they will do that much more than my BX. Let me suggest that going from a BX to a B may be a bit of a disappointment and possibly a waste of money. I would take a look at the L Grand and L TLBs even though there will be sticker shock. Just my opinion.

I did email Barrlow and was not sure of a price to give them. They finally got back to me yesterday to see if I wanted new or used. I told then new prefferably and am waiting to hear back from them. My dealer is coming up today to look at my 2350 to trade. I was just going to get the blower for the 2350 but figured I would be better up grading so I can get bigger implements for it. Due to the sizes of the properties we have been looking at buying I am not sure if I want to go any bigger then the B 3030. Thanks guy's again for the advice.

So, my local dealership just gave me a price for the 2620 with, loader, backhoe with 12 inch bucket, mid mount 60" mower, soft cab and heater all for 26,800. They will give me 9,200 for my bx 2350. The only part that sucks is they do not have any snowblowers available until March. I was wondering what everyone thinks of this price. I could do this without really hurting me while hunting for a house and new property. I think the upgrade would be worth it.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Due to the county budget not looking hot, ( facing possible 5% pay cut ) and looking for a house we have decided to wait. I will probably buy a snow blower in the spring. Prefferably use though. We decided after we get a house we would then start looking to upgrade depending on the size of the property we have. Thank you for asking though.

Since I had some time I figured I would update this thread. The wife and I are looking at a B2920 and a B3300 SU. We have prices from Barlow and are waiting for prices back from our local dealer to give them a fair shot. The tractors we prices had loader, backhoe, fluid filled Turfs, and hooks on the loader and backhoe bucket. I also told themt o make sure it had the large alternator in it as we live in the middle of nowhere so it is nice to run extra lights. The only thing we are worried about is the fact we only have about one acre of land. Maybe two if we can get the guy to sell us the empty lot next two us. We are just wondering if the 3300 is overkill. Although we like the four cylinder motor, the sixty inch bucket and the quicker hydraulics. I hope I am going in the right direction.

Well 1 acre seems kind of small for even a 2920,(or even my 7610) and a snow blower is certainly over kill in Loudoun unless you have an extremely long drive way.

I've lived in Northern Virginia since 1975 and although we have gotten several big (for the area) snowfalls, a blade, at the most, seems what is needed for the area to remove snow, It's not like where I come from, Burlington Vt, where it snowed from October to May. And only 1 year since 1975 had LESS than 40", and several over 100".

Looking at the records http://www.erh.noaa.gov/lwx/climate/iad/iadsnow.txt there's only about 5 yrs in the last 35 where we've had over 40" TOTAL. Last year was an anomaly.

I might have missed it but what was the limitation on your previous ride?

If you are still "hunting for a new house" I'd suggest waiting to see how much property you'll be getting, make the present tractor work and save until you KNOW what you need. The 3030 might be to small.

Good luck, and it's your money, but I spent my money on buying LAND first and tractor later.

Which is why I have about 400 acres in Mississippi and 75 acres in Vermont and only a B7610 SO far.

I should have updated my situation. We actually boought a house and I currently own a BX2350. I have a lot of digging to do. For drainage, stumps and other projects. I no longer live in Loudoun. We now live in Harpers Ferry WV. We live in a development that it takes two days for any plow truck to get here. The road is graded by the state. If you call it that. When we had the mass amount of rain earlier this year our was impassible. Two of us using our smaller tractors rebuilt almost half a mile of road so everyone could get through. Our goal is to have a tractor that will handle all of these chores. That is why we are looking away from the BX series and bigger then the 2920. I also want the capability of running a large chipper and post hole digger. We are aiming to be as self sufficient as possible. A PTO generator is not out of the question yet either. We are looking to buy the next lot or all three lots next to us which would also total five acres of woods that would need to be cleaned up. We also talked about buying 20 to 30 acres 10yrs down the road and building a house. We looked at the BX25 and I think the lack of power would hurt us in the long run. I think the B2920 may work well but I do not want to buy to small again.

You have answered your own question. I'd not hesitate to get the largest size you remotely think that you'd be less satisfied.

Makes a difference, 5 acres in Martinsville, West By God Virginia and maybe 20 acres, is a lot different than 1 acre in Loudoun.

If you've got that amount of roadwork to do I'd suggest you look at an L3400 for some power.


And on the subject of a PTO generator, I think the general consensus here has been that usually when you need a generator you also need a tractor to moved down "stuff".

Thanks for the post Newbury. Do you live close to where I do? I live three quarters of the way up the Blue Ridge Mountain in Shannondale. It is covered in trees and large rocks. We have a lot of grading to do on our lot. The 2350 has been great. It served us well in Loudoun. We rented a house on 10 acres there and most of it was grass. Majority of the chores was mowing grass and grading/snow removal on a half mile long driveway. It was a decently level and did not have a need to dig stumps and rocks like I do now. Now it is showing its limitations. Even this winter beat it up. We only had a couple storms and they were all 10 inches and under. The problem is the delay with getting help to clear the roads and the fact that we live on the side of the mountain.

We do have a portable generator to serve us when the tractor is being used. I was going to add another disconnect and use the tractor to power the rest of the house for conveniance when I do not need the tractor to do other things. Maybe I will take some pictures of the property for everyone. I like the advice. The wife and I are defintaley stuck.

We have two pieces of property. We live on 3 acres which is basicly a big yard with 400' drive. We also have 12 acres that is pretty rough, but have it for recreation. The B2920 is a good match for where we live. Able to do all the things I need without feeling it is too big for the property. Pretty easy on they grass without tracking it up too much.

For the other property, if I was not trailering it and lived there, I would probably opt for an L size.

So if you are buying for your property now plus a couple more of the lots, I think you will be pleased with the small B. If taking care of the county roads is a real priority, the small B is pretty light and small framed so something heavier would be a better fit. And I don't think I would spend a lot of time worrying about what might happen 10 years down the road as a lot can change by then.
