Bo, Will they not give you and extension, or have you already gotten one? It's looking good.

It took almost a year to get the foundation done, due to weather, remoteness, and scheduling conflicts. Then when I was starting to put down the first floor last April, the inspector told me my permit was about to expire. It's one year, with two 6-month extensions. The second extension expires this April. He keeps telling me that they have never gone beyond the 2nd extension.

That's really lousy on their part. My project has been Ok on that end (so far...) as the initial building permit is supposedly good for 18 months. That was about Nov/Dec timeframe (just past). I am close to being able to wrap things up enough for the final inspection (even if we are not quite ready to move),but I have not heard any noise from the inspector on pushing us so far. Another 2 months, and I think I will be ready (enough) for final. Hopefully you can get done what you need to in the time remaining!

Simple pleasures right now are good memories. I got a phone call this morning that my Mom passed away in the night. Memories have been flooding over me all day. She would have turned 98 next week. In fact, I got her birthday card last night. 😢😍😃😪😜😄

Sorry to hear that Bo. 98 is two short of 100. I am sure she lived a long and interesting life. If you feel like it, please post her obituary here.
hugs, Brandi

Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers! Since we are scattered all over the country, I think we are going to pick Mothers Day for the memorial. It's a ways off, but gives all the kids, grandkids and great grands time to plan.

Okay, back to work. We had a productive weekend as we cut out the window openings for the upstairs.

I can't get over how light it is now. I had to come back and work a couple days, but then Thursday I head back and we will put in the 4 upstairs windows, the downstairs bedroom window, and the bathroom window. And hopefully we will get the doors in also.
