ATV EPS

More than just slow speed turning power steering also prevents a wheel from getting "grabbed"....it will stop you from getting pulled around in ruts or by fencelines. Depending on your use that may or may not be a problem. I don't believe I would purchase another atv/utv without it.

Is power steering worth the extra money? Seems to be $800+ for the option. Currently have an '07 Rancher without power steering and it hasn't been an issue but wondering about the benefits...

Good Afternoon JDGREEN4ME,
I probably should not even comment here because I never had an ATV without power steering ! I own a Polaris Ranger 570 EPS mid that I just recently purchased, it
has the power steering. I bought the machine more for the way it looked, nicer seats and tire and rim combo than the power steering feature !

The only experience I have with no power steering is my neighbor and friends Polaris that does not have that feature ! As one of the other posters mentioned
I believe that it would be a benefit if your going to be doing a lot of plowing and or tight trail riding ! I believe that if your going in that direction it might be worth it to get it !

But once again I am a newbie at this, the other guys on here Im sure are much more knowledgeable !

Thanks,
scotty

I have had it on a few machines and would not buy one without it. After you have it you love it. Not only for slow speed stuff but if you ride had it take out all the bump steer (if you hit a root hard and fast it helps prevent the bars from they to rip out of your hands.)
I also find that it is great when spray because one hand is all you need to turn even at slow speeds.

A few months ago, I helped a friend round up 40 horses. His ATV was down, so I brought my 2014 Rancher with power steering for him to use while I rode my Polaris Xplorer. At the end of the roundup he was raving about how the Rancher was "better than a cutting horse" with the power steering. He was indeed out turning me when a rapid change of direction was needed, but I was better equipped to get a lead on groups that broke out with my 2-stroke. That was a fun day, and nobody was seriously injured :D.

Truthfully, there are times when I prefer the heavy steering on my Polaris. It seems less influenced by irregularities than the honda, but then it has a much lower center of gravity than the Honda and is 2wd to boot, so I'm not sure it's a fair comparison, and I don't have much experience with other machines.
