I stopped by my dealer last week to ask if he had found out anything about this, but hadn't. So we walked out to the check the CK30 he has there and noticed that there is a definate "detent" on the joy stick when pushed to right, do the 25 & 30's have the two speed dump? if so, wonder if the spool valve would swap on the CK20? Sure would be nice to have a faster dump speed!

Ken, I've never really notice one way or the other actually. It would make sense. I could check it out though. I do know that the response is faster all around at higher RPM, but I usually load at or around 2200, not rated speed. If I were doing loading for a living, I wouldn't be using a small frame CUT like my CK. The two position dump is on all the CK20s as far as I know, it's just not very pronounced.

The answer, of course, is yes, they both have the two-speed dump as does the CK20. I'm not sure if they swap out, I believe they're different, but you're not going to get a greater amount of speed either way. The CK30 valve would be rated for more hyraulic flow than the CK20 anyway, and probably wouldn't make any difference, as the speed is dictated by the amount of hydraulic flow through the valves, much lower in the CK20.

KiotiJohn, The reason I asked about the CK30 control was because the 30 my dealer has sitting there has the joy stick/valve on it but didn't have the loader assembly on, so I couldn't really "try" it out.

   / ATTN CK20 OWNERS: Question #15
Today I was using my ck30 and decided to check out this feature and when moving the joystick to the right the first step is a quick dump and then by moving the lever past the detente (farther right) is about 1/2 speed dumping.
Also, the lever wants to stop at the first stage (fast dump) and it seems like holding against slight spring pressure to go farther right to the slower dump. At first it seemed kind of backward from the way I thought it should be but actually I usually use the faster dump and now I know it's there I can jump past the quick dump to a more controlled dump. Not a big deal but handy all the same.

That's not the way the CK25/30 manual states it works, and not the way mine works. It doesn't make sense to me to have the speed dump first. Strange. John

That makes perfect sense. I couldn't figure out how you wouldn't know it has it if you were there! So much for thinking outside the box huh? All the CKs come with the joystick/valve body included, I should have thought of it. John

   / ATTN CK20 OWNERS: Question #18
Kiotijohn I would have to agree that it doesn't make sense. I reread the manual and also the manual for the loader. The only thing I can think is I am going past the complete open port on the spool and actually starting to close the spool. Like I mentioned in my earlier post I can feel a slight resistance like a compression spring in the spool when I go far right. This is when the dump goes to about 1/2 speed. Other than that there is no noticable difference in the joystick from center to about 1" from far right. I never noticed it before I purposely checked for the "feel" position so I don't think it's a big deal either way. Especially given the fact the joystick is in a handy place and easy to operate (feathering or quick dump)along with the fact the loader and bucket is plenty quick enough.

I understand how you can just be used to it, but it's not the way it should work. Should be slow to fast dump with that "feel" position. I can't imagine how that would be opposite. Of course, once someone is used to using something the way it is, it's not a problem. Your bucket should be a lot faster than mine as you have a lot more flow on the CK30. Mine is fast enough to suit me, but not if I worked commerically all the time doing loading. It's fine for the small jobs I've done for others. I'm still planning on a Dk45 cab later on, keeping the CK20 for smaller jobs. I'm still amazed every day I use it how much I can get done with such a small piece. The CK30 I used at my dealer's was super nice and very powerful. I know you enjoy the heck out of it. John

Ok, you got me wondering about this so I went out and tried out the joystick control on my CK30HST. Same thing. First detent is fast dump and farther to the right is slow dump.
Right or wrong, it looks like that is the way they are being assembled at the factory.
