Backhoe is mounted on my tractor all the time. Is there a safe place to attach a chain for log pulling on my tractor?
Thanks

Nope
I would remove the backhoe, once you do it a few times it takes less than 5 min.

There’s no way I’d remove the backhoe every time I needed to use a chain. My M59 and Deere backhoes both have tie down rings I hooked to. My last tractor backhoe had 2 plates where the boom mounts and I hooked on the back side of those.

When I use a long trucker chain for pulling out a shrub or similar job, I wrap it twice around the drawbar hitch ball, attaching it back to itself. I attach it back on itself and it's secure. I think it might be possible to do the same thing with the Kioti backhoe attached, taking care that the chain wouldn't strike the underside during the job. This would be a 20+ foot long chain. Do this at your own risk but it seems possible for a fairly light duty pull.

You asked if their is a safe place on the backhoe to hook to for pulling logs. The answer is no, the backhoe subframe attachment to the tractor is not meant for pulling on especially for large loads like big logs. It is only meant to support the weight of the backhoe on the tractor. The out riggers are meant to handle all of the pulling loads that the backhoe produces. If you try to hook large loads to the backhoe frame you risk ripping the frame off the tractor. Cut the logs into small pieces and get a thumb or a grapple for the front.

Randy, if your drawbar is installed you can still hook-up to it with the back hoe installed. I do it all the time, I use a bunjy cord to hold the hoses for the back hoe raised and have a twisted clevis installed on the drawbar. As long as your pulls are anything level or downward your good to go. Bob
