2014 DK45 cab tractor. Used it on Sunday with no issues. Tried to start it Monday, turned key to heat plugs and indicator came on then when ready turned to on and "click" everything is dead and only the oil indicator light is barely on. Probably been 4 years since last battery replacement. Tried to jump start it from truck and no luck, put a trickle charger on it all night and again lights on dash lit up but turned key and dead.

If battery what size and cranking amps am I looking for. The owners manual is somewhere in a building but I cannot find it if my life depended on it...lol

Load test the battery to be sure, probably need to charge it first. Yes it’s probably the battery.

It does sound like a failed battery, but as Dodge Man suggests a load test is in order.
For replacement, if the BCI size and CCA information is not printed on the battery you can measure what you have and reference a BCI table for something that will fit. Pay attention to the terminal orientation also.

"Tried to jump start it from truck and no luck...."

If your truck engine was running and producing 13+ volts and whatever amperage your alternator is rated at........the tractor should have turned over........unless the ground connections at the battery/starter are corroded/loose.

Yes, check the battery, but check/clean your ground wires.

I’ve seen batteries so bad or so dead they wouldn’t jump start.

With jumper cables that’s pretty common. I’ve started a completely dead 4bt Cummins with my 2000 amp Noco pack. I’ve never actually tried a 6bt Cummins with that pack but I’ve started a completely dead 6bt Cummins with the 4200 amp Noco.

Could be battery cable issue, or ignition switch issue (common on many Kiotis)….but have battery load tested first.

I would clean the battery terminals and make sure they are tight. may save you the price of a battery at this time.

Grab the battery cable ends and see if you can wiggle them or move them on the battery posts by hand. If you can, they're loose and likely your problem. A loose cable will pass small amounts of current but can't conduct the large amperage needed to turn the starter and your engine.

Put a voltmeter across the battery posts. What's it read? If under 12 volts your battery is bad or not getting charged. (Load testing is great but few people have a load tester. Everyone should have a volt meter.) If you get it started, put a voltmeter across the battery terminals with it running. You should see 14 volts or so -- that would tell you that your alternator is charging. These are the two most basic checks that should be performed first.

The battery has a BCI group number on it. Take a pic of the labels on the battery and take that to the store with you. That is the code that specifies the shape, size, terminal configuration, etc. CCA is also clearly printed on every battery. Buy the Best in whatever brand if you can. I honesly find the Walmart batteries last about the same as other brands and they're easy to exchange if you have a problem.

Take your battery with you to the auto parts store. You'll either find out it's good or you'll come home with a new battery.

Hard to believe how many "dead battery" threads drag on for weeks. Hope you don't get caught chasing ghosts and get your problem resolved quickly.
